Chapter 3617: The Old Switcheroo
Chapter 3617: The Old Switcheroo
“Rgh…!” Amare gritted her teeth as the intense beam of light burned off all the leaves that covered her body, leaving her barely regenerated skin exposed.
But she had more important things to worry about.
Her amber eyes stared at Argenton with an expression of shock. “You…”
She was aware of who the tekvore was, even if she had never run into him face-to-face. Her grandmother had told her about the powerful silver tekvore who could fight on par with even her at every battle.
“What the hell are you doing here?” she gazed at him with an expression of horror. “Where did Transentia go?”
Argenton’s expression remained ugly as his silver eyes bore deep into Amare’s. “We switched places. Right about now, Transentia is wreaking havoc on the other battlefield. Unfortunately for you…”
RUMBLE!!!
The world shook as an avatar of light emerged around him.
“This battle will be your demise.”
Amare gritted her teeth as she prepared for a second battle with another top ascendant tekvore despite having come this close to winning against Transentia.
Transentia, on the other hand, found herself a tremendous distance away on the Kandrian front.
One moment, she was in a place where the darkness of the night sky covered the solemn oceans.
The very next moment, she found herself in the blue waters of the Great Nam Ocean with the bright light of the afternoon sun illuminating the entire battlefield. She found herself staring face to face with a dark MECHA around which light itself seemed to bend. She found herself facing an army of Martial Artists and MECHAs instead of therianthropes and their beasts.
“What…?” A faint murmur escaped her. “Where am I?”
She seemed as confused as the enemies facing her.
[I switched you and Argenton because both of you were losing your battles.]
Her crystal face crumpled with grim reckoning while her eyes grew murderously angry.
Her crystal skin gnashed against itself as she clenched her fist, gritting her teeth. Her hand ran across the cracks in her chest that Amare had inflicted upon her. She couldn’t believe that Amare had managed to inflict so much damage on her with just one blow, despite the fact that her body was crafted by a dwarven Sage.
The damage naturally affected how many quantum scalpels she could generate.
“My mission…” Transentia’s tone was chilling.
[Destroy the army you see before you and then head to the Kandrian Empire to inflict even more destruction. Your goal is to overwhelm all of their defenses and force them to deploy as many forces as you possibly can.]
“Very well…” Transentia growled as her body began to shine with power, her crystal eyes blazing with hatred. “I will kill them all.”
Bodhisattva Maitreyi, who stood a hundred meters away from her in the bright afternoon sky, sharpened her eyes. “Don’t underestimate her. I sense that she is even stronger than Argenton! We can’t lower our guard around her.”
RUMBLE!!!
Transentia unleashed a storm of quantum scalpels against her new opponents with renewed vigor and vengeance on the Kandrian front while Argenton rampaged with his solid light technology on the Kiriket front as the two conflicts continued.
This was not a battle that was likely to end any time soon, if ever in the coming weeks and months. A stream of reinforcements emerged from the Panama Continent, heading to reinforce the war fleets pushing back against the war fleets of Greater Tekvoria, which were also being reinforced by an aggressive supply of reinforcements.
[I don’t want to turn this into a slow and long war. That will not help me fulfill my goal of getting rid of the sea monster blockade and regaining access to the negatron matter. The longer this unfolds, the more we have to lose.]
NOVA had not started this war simply out of a grudge match for being thrown out of the Great Void Ocean. She did this because she wanted to force the Panamians to restore the sea monsters to their original place to fulfill their original role of protecting the continent.
The best way to force somebody to protect their continent was to attack it relentlessly and destructively.
As long she could mount enough pressure on her enemies, they would be forced to go on the defensive. Of course, she had access to data from the original invasion of the true world into the Panama Continent just one month after the Unfolding.
So she knew that the Panama Continent was even more resilient than one might have suspected. They not only survived a month of invasion, but even beat back all of them when Rui Quarrier returned, even if she had never understood where he had been supposed to be for a month when his homeland was being invaded.
[There are too many mysteries in this continent. The probability that they are hiding something is too high. Most likely, whatever secret they are hiding is related to the exotic nature of their continent and their sudden disappearance and reappearance of the continent.]
The true world had not forgotten about the mystery and the miracle of the Panama Continent simply disappearing and reappearing one hundred and eighty-seven thousand years later.
It was just that there were vastly greater things of consequence that everybody had to deal with, such as the exotic resources that were available, the race to space, and now, the negatron mines at the bottom of the Great Void Ocean.
The political class generally allowed the scientific community to conduct its research and postulate hypotheses and theories; if something came out of it, then it was one less mystery. If not, then it didn’t matter too much since it did not change the material reality of the power dynamics.
NOVA was different, however.
[I will get to the bottom of this. But first, I will need to win this war.]
And that was exactly what she intended to do. She knew that the Panama Continent was not going to be easy, and she intended to take measures to make sure that she could overwhelm them.
Thankfully, she was not alone.
Nine hours after the press conference of the Emperor of Harmony, a fourth superpower had entered the war. The giants of Samarkha began mobilizing towards the Panama Continent, drawing alarm from across the entire world.
