Chapter 3618: A Giant Invasion
Chapter 3618: A Giant Invasion
RUMBLE!!!
Step after step, a titanic army of giants dove into the depths of the ocean, swimming across the ocean as they swept through its waters, heading straight towards the Panama Continent.
It didn’t matter how impractical it was for an army to travel to the Panama Continent from the Continent of Samarkha by swimming.
The giants did it anyway.
And got away with it.
Their physiology was so powerful that they were able to make the travel through swimming through the ocean.
Despite their giant bodies, the speed at which they cruised through the ocean was one to behold, heading in the direction of the Panama Continent at an alarming rate.
The giants understood just as much as anybody that they would need to pressure the Panama Continent into yielding and returning their army of sea monsters back to the Great Nam Ocean. They couldn’t allow the Panamans to monopolize the negatron matter the way they did; otherwise, their ambitions to harness the power of negatron matter to overcome some of their shortcomings would be crushed.
Additionally, the Panama Continent was a tasty meal to most of them, anyway, comprising exotic delicacies that could not be found anywhere else in the true world.
It was a win-win as far as they were concerned.
Despite how they acted, they were not stupid, just often irrational due to their extremely intense hunger. However, they understood that the best way to force the Panamic Alliance to get their sea monsters back was through an invasion by sea.
It was the perfect opportunity to get Panamans to recall their sea monsters.
After all, the Panama Continent could not afford to have a giant army on its land. Unlike the elves, once the giants reached their land, it would undoubtedly become an untenable battle.
The light elves had barely managed to keep the giants at bay despite the fact that they were supposed to be invincible within their homeland. It took Mother Maeria’s personal intervention, a top ten powerhouse, to displace them from East Genora, when she too was at her strongest within the continent.
The same was not nearly as true for the Panamic Alliance. The moment Panamic Alliance learned of this news, they feared and dreaded what was to come the very moment the giants reached anywhere near the Panama Continent.
Reports of the giant invasion spread across the true world as all nations and people learned of the charging giants to the Panama Continent. The geopolitical atmosphere of the true world began to boil as tensions mounted among people, pathwalkers, and leaders.
“Hah, serves the Panamic Civilization right!” one elven-evolutionary hybrid snorted upon reading the breaking news. “Those bastards are trying to monopolize all the treasures in the world for themselves.”
“Damn, my nation is currently negotiating with the Panamic Alliance! We might get attacked by the giants, too, if we end up joining the Panamanians!”
“Serves you right!”
“Hey, fuck you!”
The people of the true world immediately began feuding as those who were favored by the Panamic Alliance and were bound to get access to the negatron mines of the true world.
However, the chatter of the common folks was sharply contrasted with the dreadful cold sweat that the ruling class around the world broke into.
A world war had truly arrived at their doorsteps.
It didn’t matter if they were involved or not.
It didn’t matter if they were participating or not.
Four superpowers had already declared war, explicitly or implicitly.
In one day.
Just one week ago, this would have been beyond unfathomable.
And yet, the emergence of negatron matter six days ago and the conflicts and the rapid escalation from ocean battles to an all-out world war had happened so fast that it left everybody reeling with whiplash.
Four superpowers of four continents had already declared war in less than twelve hours after the press conference of the Emperor of Harmony, and many were undoubtedly bound to join up.
Even if they didn’t, four superpowers alone were so drastically extreme by themselves that not a single nation, civilization, race, or group would be able to avoid getting tangled, one way or another.
Nations around the world were each confronted with a choice that would alter their future.
And yet, the biggest decisions to be made were by none other than the Panamic Alliance itself.
“The fauna population of our continent has yet to heal from the damage of the Beast Incursion.” Prime Minister Edward’s voice was of an intense composure.
He stroked his long, well-groomed mustache as he studied the SONAR data and satellite footage of the traveling army. “Thus, while the beasts and monsters are powerful guardians of our continent, they alone cannot stop the giants if they reach our continent.”
Opposite him from across the table, an official wearing the military uniform of the Panamic Alliance nodded with a grim expression. “If we had a decade or two, I’m sure we would have regained our quasi-Transcendents. The Elder Tree managed to preserve specimens of all the species that were slain in the Siege of Sages. But it will take time for us to repopulate our lost quasi-Transcendent population. We cannot rely on the beasts and monsters of the Panama Continent to protect us from the more powerful giants, of which there are plenty. In fact, given that their bodies have esoteric matter, they will end up strengthening the giants. That, we must avoid, Grand General Edward.”
The Emperor of Harmony had kept his promise to the Britannian Prime Minister, giving him the role of Grand General of the Panamic Alliance with a mandate to oversee the military strategy and operations of the alliance. A role that would go on to be decided electorally by the member states of the Panamic Alliance.
However, much to Edward’s displeasure, Emperor Rael managed to retain the ability to veto his commands and seize military authority at his discretion in the case of an ’emergency.’
It was not ideal, but Prime Minister Edward had grudgingly relented and agreed to the arrangement. With this, he had managed to gain more authority within the Panamic Alliance than the others, slowing down the decline of his influence in the Panama Continent that had continued ever since the Beast Incursion.
