Chapter 3619: Where Is Rui
Chapter 3619: Where Is Rui
He had developed a profound hatred for beasts and monsters ever since then, but he didn’t allow it to affect his objectivity. No matter what, he would not allow his judgment to be compromised by his biases.
“The beasts and monsters under the command of the Elder Tree are our final line of defense,” Prime Minister Edward declared with a knowing tone. “Should they ever be mobilized, it will have meant that the situation has deteriorated to a highly critical state. Let us ensure that it does not get to that stage. Now coming back to the giants…”
He tapped the map showing the live location of the invading army. “We don’t have the forces to stop this invasion without completely depleting our reserves of Martial Artists. Thankfully, we can do that precisely because of the beasts and monsters that protect our continent.”
He leaned forward with a severe expression. “Mobilize thirty percent of our Martial Artists, including all of our aquatic Martial Artists from the Marinaera Kingdom, to intercept the invading giant army in a three-shift cycle. Have them execute tactical protocol A-16 to intercept, extricate, and stall the charging giant army after softening the invading army with all the siege weapons we can muster. However, we haven’t had the time to muster as many aquatic siege vessels due to how niche this form of war is, while conventional siege weapons are not optimal for aquatic environments. It truly is unfortunate that they are somehow swimming a hundred meters below the surface of the ocean. It’s almost as if…”
Prime Minister Edward’s gray eyes sharpened as a chilling realization dawned on him. “Almost as if they are baiting us to return our sea monsters back to the Great Nam Ocean to fight them underwater, thereby ridding the Great Void Ocean of our occupation.”
If that was the case, then the giants were much more tactical and strategic than Prime Minister Edward had ever given them credit for. In fact, if things deteriorated too much, then they could only try and ask Rui Quarrier to recall some of the sea monsters back to the Great Nam Ocean in an emergency missive.
“Where the hell is that bastard anyway?” Prime Minister Edward snarled. “He’s supposed to be our greatest guardian, but he just goes off and does his own merry thing!”
Far away in outer space, Rui sneezed.
There was no sound due to the absence of air.
He gazed in the direction of the planet of Gaia. ’Is someone talking about me?’
Of course, someone was talking about him all the time, about how popular, important, and significant he was. If he sneezed every time someone talked about him, he would be sneezing every nanosecond of every day for the rest of his life.
’This is the first time I’ve seen Planet Gaia as a whole from afar.’
He gazed at the giant sphere that occupied much of his field of vision as his expression loosened, growing slack. His pitch-black eyes lit up slowly as an expression of amazement emerged on his face.
Half the sphere was drowned in darkness in the shadow the sun cast, while the other half shone with bright light radiantly, gloriously reflecting the shining light of the sun.
The gorgeous turquoise of the oceans was rich.
They contained a depth that one could get lost in for all of eternity.
The seven continents were nothing short of a work of art, each unique and beautiful in its own way.
Genora was a bright green from east to west, while Sirinwel was a dark black due to all the volcanic sediment and igneous rock that covered its surface.
Kiriket was a gradient of green, with smudges of brown and blue across all of it, filled with all manner of vegetation and environments across its surface to cater to the diverse fauna it hosted.
Acherialis was gray and red, reeking of metal and blood woven into a tapestry that painted a sublime picture of Greater Tekvoria that covered every inch of its surface.
Moridia was a spectrum between bright and dark on one side to the other, reflecting the startling difference in climate across the entire continent. The contrast was constantly shifting, too, which spoke to just how volatile the conditions were that pushed ancient homo sapiens to evolve into homo evosapien.
Samarkha was a barren wasteland with smudges of green and gray indicating some civilization and species of flora that could withstand even the belligerent gluttony of the giants.
And the Panama Continent was at the very center, covered in all kinds of exotic colors that made it seem like the color palette of a messy artist rather than a normal patch of land.
Together, they painted a profound picture of the world of Gaia herself.
A world that contained depths and mysteries that even he couldn’t fathom.
“It’s beautiful.”
His voice permeated through the very fabric of space and time as it spread through the cosmos, destined to reach infinity.
He couldn’t help but want to stare at the planet forever, trying to pry at her depths. The more he gazed at her, the more alive she became, almost as if she was revealing herself to him for the first time.
Almost as if she was gazing right back at him. Almost as if she was beckoning his attention, trying to whisper to him, trying to make him see something that he couldn’t see.
It was enchanting.
He shook his head, breaking out of his reverie, before turning around.
He had not come this far to take a sightseeing tour.
He tapped the breathing apparatus that the Astromind had prepared for him, allowing him to breathe in space.
The rest he could handle himself.
He drastically reduced all internal pressure to match the absence of an external pressure while absorbing energy at an unprecedented rate from the sun with the Blood of Solaris in his body.
His eyes fixed on the depths of the bright, beautiful cosmos that spread out infinitely.
“Time to find the Divine Doctor.”
