Chapter 1914: Cap 1910: Fallen Lord of Chaos...
Chapter 1914: Cap 1910: Fallen Lord of Chaos…
Pov Niryna:
I stood at the edge of the Demonic Field. Behind me was the border of this Infernal space that led back to the Ascended Universe. Only my two servants stood by my side.
“Lady, please…” (Dante)
“This is irrational!” (me)
“Why should I listen to this bitch’s words!!” (me)
“Lady Niryna, let’s not speak of her majesty like that…” (Lara)
“Majesty is the broken skull!!” (me)
“Everything Callidora does is for her and her alone!!” (me)
“I reluctantly agreed to participate in this event because of the System’s assurances, as well as her promises that Zenos and the others would survive!!!” (me)
“Lady, everyone is alive and well…” (Dante)
“They’re fine for now! Look at my Father’s condition!?” (Me)
I didn’t even let my two servants, who were only trying to comfort me, speak; I was close to having a breakdown and doing something crazy.
I didn’t like giving Zenos trouble. When we were children in our past life, he cared for me more than anyone else. He tutored me after school, as well as many other younger children. He made gifts for everyone on our birthdays since we couldn’t afford anything. He even helped with the cooking. I never saw him without a smile in those days. His eyes were bright and his words full of affection, all while possessing a weak and sickly body. That was how unfair the world was.
In this life, he agreed to make a deal with Hell itself just to free my Soul, even without knowing the atrocities I committed in the few months of the Apocalypse.
Even after all this, he treated me well. He was no longer that weak man. He had power, authority, and many people who served him, but he still treated me exactly the same, like family.
Tears
“You think I don’t know what that thing is! I can see everything in Hell just by closing my eyes!!!” (me)
“I know what kind of horror that thing is! I know where Callidora has it so tightly bound! I know it’s impossible to defeat!!” (me)
Tears
I wipe the tears from my eyes, my anger overcoming my sadness, my will rising as I stand, but before I can take a step forward, my two servants grab my arms.
“If you don’t let go of my arms, I will tear your bodies apart and throw your Souls into the most wretched corner of Hell!” (me)
“Please, madam… think carefully about this. Callidora is irrational and might do something to you!” (Dante)
“Even without counting Callidora, the System allowed all of this with one of the conditions being that you not participate. This is an Entity that even Callidora fears, we cannot intervene!” (Lara)
“I don’t give a damn about that!” (me)
The System had its rules, but it could also negotiate. I was unique. I knew Callidora would never kill me. I was her perfect plaything. The System could try something, but it wouldn’t try to kill me either. The punishment would probably fall to Callidora, not me.
As soon as I broke free from my servants and took a second step, my entire body went still. I wasn’t being held or restrained, I was immobile with fear. I didn’t even notice when two pale arms embraced me from behind.
“Calm down, my daughter. You mustn’t interfere with what’s about to happen.” (Callidora)
“You promised they’d be okay! You lied to me!!” (me)
“Child, I didn’t lie. There’s no fun in lying.” (Callidora)
“I never promised they’d be okay either. I told you they wouldn’t die.” (Callidora)
“DON’T LIE TO ME!” (me)
“YOU THINK I DIDN’T TELL YOU ABOUT THAT DAMN THING!!!” (me)
“I SAW IT TRAPPED HERE! I CAN FEEL IT BEING DRAGGED OUT RIGHT NOW!!!” (me)
“What wonderful courage! Before, you wouldn’t even raise your voice to me, but now you can even yell at me~…” (Callidora)
Callidora smiled as she floated in her transparent form to my face, where she wiped my face with her hands, smiling as she spoke.
“But don’t forget that I have my means to make you obey. You can feel as angry as you want now, but after killing all your friends and family, after hundreds of millions of years of torturing you to madness, there would be no memory of them left. It would be as easy to order you around as any other of my servants.” (Callidora)
“Then do it if you can, but if you fail, you will lose your sweet toy forever. Do you think I care about pain or any other torment?” (Me)
“He is everything to me! If anything happens to him because of you, I will dedicate eternity to destroying you, even if I have to make a deal with the Abyss.” (me)
“Your tantrum is useless against me. I could do so many things to you, from erasing your memories to reincarnating you and waiting a few reincarnations for you to acquire a new personality.” (Callidora)
“Don’t try to spout nonsense as if you were capable of fulfilling it out of your childish anger. It doesn’t work on me.” (Callidora)
I hate to admit it, but she’s not wrong. I’m letting anger cloud my mind. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be able to fulfill such grandiose promises. I wouldn’t be able to hurt Callidora, either. But that doesn’t mean I can’t do anything.
Sigh
“You’re right. I’m letting my emotions get the better of me. I forgot that you don’t care about anything but yourself and you know it’s impossible for me to hurt you.” (me)
“But I still have options. I could destroy myself, completely annihilating my body and soul. That’s not difficult to achieve. You yourself taught me some of the means to accomplish this.” (me)
“I could also choose another Entity to become my Avatar.” (me)
“Magnificent threats, but do you think I’d let any of those things work?” (Callidora)
Callidora never changes her expression because of emotions; to her, someone’s face is just another form of deception.
“I even enjoy seeing your defiance and courage, but I still won’t allow you to move. Zenos will be fine. He has his ways, just like all the other Bringers of Chaos who came before him.” (Callidora)
“The risk of death will always exist to a greater or lesser extent, but there are beings that are ridiculously difficult to kill.” (Callidora)
“…” (me)
I knew Zenos was difficult to kill. When he encountered something he couldn’t handle, he’d flee without even looking back. It was also difficult to land a precise blow against him.
“Still, a Lord of Chaos!” (me)
“I thought it would be more fun~…” (Callidora)
“I won’t forget about this, the little trust I had in you died here.” (me)
“In another 100 years, you won’t even remember those words.” (Callidora)
I sit cross-legged once more, watching in the distance as that portal opened like a four-pointed star.
That portal was massive as it opened as if trying to vomit something from within. I wave my hand, revealing a mirror that showed what was happening there more clearly.
“He’s here…” (me)
Soon, a claw emerged from the portal, and that’s when it all began.
————————
Pov Zenos:
“What’s happening!!??” (Me)
The portal that opened pulsed with the power of Hell, but the concentration was so intense, not only that, but I could sense the Concept of Hell within it—an evil and horrific Concept.
That portal opened like the mouth of a monster. From within, a strange sensation emanated from the depths of my Soul. Then I felt a presence envelop me for only half a second before disappearing.
That’s when the thing began to emerge, a claw with four very long fingers, each containing a metal ring covered in Infernal Runes.
In the palm of its hand was a large, ribbed, bone-like figure from which metal chains extended to the rings on its fingers. On its wrist was a handcuff with a chain connected to the nail in its hand and another chain that was still inside the portal.
Soon, more and more of that creature emerged, and with that, my heart seemed to pulse almost in resonance with the screams of that thing.
His arm was thin and long, covered in a black cloth that seemed to be made of pure darkness. Soon another arm appeared, exactly like the first, followed by a third and fourth, also identical. The chains holding his wrists were stretching as if he were trying to pull himself out, but he soon succeeded.
When he emerged, what turned out to be a spectral creature. His body had bloody tentacles instead of legs. His body was thin, and his clothes were a cloak of darkness that seemed to be moving around him. Around his waist was a belt made of intertwined bodies, from which chains extended into the portal from which he emerged. Around his neck was a thick metal collar covered in markings, with chains on both sides stretching into the portal.
His head was misshapen, merely a skull, but it had two faces; it was impossible to tell whether they were male or female. Each face looked to one side. Meanwhile, on the side of his head, which faced forward, there was only a large jaw connecting the jaws of the two faces, forming a grotesque mouth.
Its face wasn’t human; there was no nose or ears; the two faces were just a pair of eyes each and that damned enormous mouth baring its teeth.
Its head was hairless, but on its head was a crown that seemed made of gray light. It looked as if the light had been given physical form and then shattered before piecing the pieces together somehow to create that crown.
But it wasn’t its hideous appearance or the contradiction between the crown of light and the robes of darkness that caught my attention.
What caught my attention was realizing that all the power of the Infernal Concept I was sensing was actually emanating from the chains and restraints holding that thing. Its head had dozens of stakes attached to the chains, pulling it back, its body wrapped in leather straps, yet it forced itself forward. From its body, an energy I knew all too well emanated from it like a fountain, making the very space around it turn muddy.
“Power of Chaos… what is this damn thing!?” (me)
“Callidora has gone mad!!!” (Davoth)
“Do you know what that is?” (me)
As I spoke, I could see the chains and bonds breaking, the ones still working through the portal. As that thing broke free, I suddenly felt a pair of eyes on me, the eyes of that thing.
“That is a Fallen Lord of Chaos…” (Davoth)
