Chapter 1129 Earning Respect
After the little interaction, Rayna had agreed that she wouldn’t bow down to Raze, and instead, she decided to show them to their temporary living arrangement. Although they wouldn’t be staying there for long considering that the funeral would start in a few hours.
Still, it would be a place for them to rest if they needed to. As Rayna was showing them, she looked at Raze as he talked to a few of the others, giving them small details of what his initial plan was, and she found herself staring at him.
‘I know our relationship is not the strongest, and that our marriage was one that had political value, but the more time I spend with you, I can’t help myself but wish that it was something that was true,’ Rayna thought.
Eventually, Raze had finished talking to the others as he walked towards Rayna, along with him Fixteen and Dame.
“I think it might be good if Raze was to introduce himself around those in the camp. There are quite a lot of leaders in the Demonic Faction that he hasn’t met yet, and due to what we are planning to do, I think it might be good if he is to meet with them.”

Rayna nodded along. “I agree, at the moment we are waiting for further instruction from Han and Fing, I think it will be a good idea.”
Walking out, they had left the building, and just like before all eyes were staring at them, and even Raze noticed it for the first time.
“I have to admit, even for me, this is a bit intimidating,” Raze commented. “I don’t really know what I’m meant to say.”
“You have been quite good at speeches when it comes to it,” Fixteen added. “You are quite inspiring when you are…angry, so maybe try and channel it into your current conversations.”
In the end, they decided that it might be best for them to move in a type of semi-circle. As they approached the group of men, immediately they had bowed down to him. Although Raze had said the words earlier to Rayna, he did not say the same to the other leaders.
It wasn’t the right time, nor did he have the same relationship with the Demonic Clan as he did his other allies. He didn’t even know if the Demonic Clan would be willing to help him yet.
“We are pleased to meet you, we have heard many great things, and I have to say that you seem even greater in person yourself!”
“Yes, yes!” Another added. “And, Dame, Fixteen, Rayna, you have all chosen to follow a great person. I believe that your move was a great one.”
“I don’t think it’s the time to be saying words like that,” Rayna added. “It almost sounds like it was good that we left the Neverfall clan. I want to remind you that Belil was still our father, and this event is to respect the Neverfall and our father.
“Don’t go praising the man in front of you too much, while forgetting everything that Belil has done.”
She didn’t like it that these Demonic Clan leaders were suddenly being so nice not just to her, but Dame and Rayna. In the past, no attention was paid to them, only to their brothers Han and Fing.
Yet now that they had attached themselves to Raze, suddenly they were treating them like this? It made her sick, and usually people that were like this were flimsy and easily could be swayed by other reasons.
After giving their greetings, they were ready to walk off before Raze turned around. “They are not my followers,” Raze said. “They are my allies, and those that I brought with me today, they are my friends.
“I don’t know if that word means much to any of you, but I will explain what it means to me. If they are in a tough situation, then I do what I can to help them. Not for the sake of the clan. Not because of who they know, not because of what they can do to benefit me, but because they are my friends.”
In Raze’s mind, this was the distinction that he had finally made. From those that he would use just to progress further, like the Dark Faction clans and the Demonic Clans, and between those he would help out.
In his mind, he owed them a lot for everything they were doing. His goal was still number one, but he wouldn’t trample on top of them to get to his goal.
As Raze continued to walk around, eventually, a particular individual had approached him. With a black mask covering his face, and a white ragged hood. Bandages ran up his arms and legs as well with a lean frame.
The appearance could only be of one person they knew.
“That’s Lince from the Lost Clan. One of the major three Demonic Factions! What is he going to do?”
“Right, but it’s two major factions, unless we now start counting the town of Flendon…the Crimson Crane…or the Dark Faction people as one of them. This is all starting to get confusing as it blends into one.”
“But…surely, this will either be a clash of two powers, or a type of acceptance of powers,” another added.
When Lince came over, his cheeks rose, showing that he had a bright smile on his face. That was how Raze could tell anyway.
“It seems like today is a big day, today and I’m interested in what the outcome of all of this would be, I hope you have a good plan,” Lince stated. “Because these people need to approve of you, I’ve been gathering information and it seems not everyone in the Demonic Faction does. You’ll have to do something quite spectacular in front of their eyes to have hope in you.”
Lince paused, waiting for Raze to answer, but he didn’t say anything, causing Lince to speak on.
“I have a suggestion that might solve the problem, how about a little fight between us, right here in front of everyone.”
