Chapter 1692: Bird View Hotel

Chapter 1692: Bird View Hotel

From MC’s Perspective

Vulture’s Hill

We reached the end of the town before finding the path to the city on the mountaintop. We didn’t stop anywhere and started moving along the path.

As time went by, we came across other travelers. They were wandering wizards and wizards from the nearby forces.

On the other hand, I used the system function to see whether anyone was talking about the giant humanoid. But there were no such talks.

However, I believed this news would reach others sooner or later. This place was nearest to the sand region. I was sure I would hear the news after reaching the city above.

We continued to move. Patrick and Otto were moving side by side with me. Hank was leading the way forward. We were not the only ones with Supreme Wizards in the team.

I found a few Supremes hiding their strength.

An hour later,

We reached the mountaintop. A massive gate to the city welcomed us.

[Vulture’s Hill]

My gaze fell on the huge bird statue at the entrance. It was a vulture statue. We then walked up to the gate.

Our identities were asked for by the guards. We told them that we were a wandering group. So, we paid the entry fees before going inside the city.

I had thought the inspection would be strict. But there was some understanding that not everyone liked to disclose their identity. So, these questions were asked as just a formality.

As the group entered the city, we came across a view of another giant statue. It was built in the middle of the city.

The 100-meter-tall vulture statue was the main attraction of the city.

Patrick and Otto exchanged looks. Otto had already heard some important information through his magic.

Patrick sensed an extraordinary aura.

“I have rarely seen magic monsters before,” Patrick uttered.

“Vulture’s Hill City is one of the oldest cities. They were known for raising magic monsters,” Hank said from the side.

On the other hand, I collected my thoughts and said, “Let’s go find a hotel. I need a rest.”

Hearing that, the four of us started walking towards the hotel. Besides us, there were other tourists and traders in this place.

Cubs of monster species sold well. If one could raise it well, it could become a good companion.

There was a big hotel located on the first street itself. It was a 50-floor, towering building.

[Bird View Hotel]

The name of the hotel caught our attention. Then we walked inside the hotel and came to the front desk.

The hotel had premium suites. We booked one with multiple rooms. We got the premium suite on the 40th floor. The last 10 floors were premium suites.

A few minutes later,

We reached the 40th floor through the lift. After entering the premium suite, without me saying anything, they started inspecting the room with mental power.

I used the system function to scan the room. The system results said that the room was safe. Then I turned towards the three of them.

“Hank, Patrick, and Otto. Go outside and gather as much intel as possible. I want to know whether anyone from the Mage Union is here,” I said to them.

Hearing that, their expressions changed drastically. Hank was not naive.

He knew about Master Vincent’s background. During his stay with other seniors inside the spatial treasure, he had learned about Master Vincent’s true identity.

It was a terrifying identity. The local forces around Brookspire Town were nothing but ants in front of the Mage Union.

Then, the three of them left the room. There was still daylight left. They wanted to return before evening.

When they were gone from the place, I took the digital device out. Then I saw a signal. A strange glint flashed in my eyes.

“Did the Mage Union make arrangements?” I thought.

Considering it was a border city, I thought it was quite possible. If the super-large nation next to the city tried to attack, then the Mage Union needed to know very fast.

Then I collected my thoughts and contacted Manager Lara. When the call was connected, I breathed a sigh of relief.

“Vincent, where are you?” Lara’s surprise-filled voice sounded from the other end.

“Well, I’m just wandering around. Right now, I’m staying in a border city.” After saying that, I told her the city name.

“What?”

“You have traveled that far? No one will be able to find you there,” Lara replied.

Hearing that, I asked her about the situation on their side.

“Lord Erwin and Charlotte have yet to return. I think it’s going to take several months for them to return. The matter of the outer space item has caused a huge stir.”

“The matter seems to have died down right now. But I have a feeling that it would rise up if either of the Lords returns. If they return a few months later, then everyone would think they had used the outer space item,” she said.

Hearing that, my heart was stirred. Because I had used it already. It was not what I wanted, yet it was useful.

“Should I come back?” I asked her.

There was some silence on the other side.

“You can return once they come back. Everyone knows that you are close to two Forbidden Wizards. There are other Lords in our faction. They could use you to force them to come back,” Lara said.

A hint of disappointment flashed in my eyes.

“Alright, just inform me once they return,” I replied.

“Okay,” Lara said.

Then I thought of the giant existence and asked her, “Manager Lara, do you know anything about the giant existence wearing knight armor with yellow eyes?”

Lara was shocked to the core. For a second, she thought she heard it wrong.

“How did you know?” Lara asked.

“During my travels, I came across old books. I spotted information in old notes,” I lied to her.

Lara then sighed in relief. She said, “They are called Magic Knights or Soldiers. They were used in wars in outer space. I even heard these things from Lord Charlotte. But you found out in old books.”

My heart set off a storm.
