Chapter 2518: Well Deserved Confidence.

Once they saw the information about the power of the giant, especially the past about the ultimate abilities, they were able to quickly figure out what the giant was relying on.

Legion-2 thought to himself, “If I were the vessel of a god and a subordinate god, I would be confident too.”

Not only did the giant have two ultimate divine abilities, but his identity was also special. So he would be a difficult enemy to face in battle. But Legion-2 still wasn’t deterred.

What he did next was to rush towards the giant. As he rushed forward, he manipulated his body using the Blood Manipulation divine ability and created many tentacles with his flesh. This was possible because his body was made out of blood.

He also enhanced the tentacles with the Blood Limb divine ability, Sever, and other divine abilities. And when he got within 1 kilometer of the giant, he lashed out with the bloody tentacles.

The giant was taller than Legion-2, but the tentacles rained down on him nonetheless. The giant didn’t dare to let the blows strike him for fear of being shredded to pieces. He quickly activated his rank 8 divine ability. This made his body, which was already as hard as rock, gain a metallic sheen.

The rank 8 divine ability of giants is Invincible. It is a divine ability that allows giants to block all types of attacks for a brief time.

This divine ability is similar to Aegis Shield. The main difference is that the Invincible divine ability renders giants immobile like a rock, and it transfers all the damage that they are supposed to receive into the expenditure of divine energy.

So when the tentacles struck the giant, they didn’t manage to hurt him at all. All that they managed to do was cause his divine energy to deplete rapidly.

For a moment, the giant was astonished by the power of the attacks. He asked himself in shock, “How many souls does he have? He is too powerful to have just six souls in total.”

Right from the first attack, he realized that he was no match for Legion-2 in any way. But he was still confident of victory.

He said to himself, “Fortunately, I’m not alone.”

The god of guardians is supporting him. In fact, the god of guardians is watching the fight right now.

After seeing that he was incapable of withstanding the power of Legion-2’s attacks, the god of guardians decided to intervene. The god of guardians used the rank 1 divine ability of the pathway of guardians on the giant.

The rank 1 divine ability of the pathway of giants is the Guardian Shield divine ability. It is a milky white radiance that forms a spherical shield around its target. So once it was used on the giant, a white bubble appeared around him.

The bloody tentacles struck the bubble and sliced into it. They could breach the defense of the white shield, but the effectiveness of their attack was similar to the effectiveness of a hot knife pushing through a block of ice.

The knife can still melt the ice block. But the speed at which it does so will slow down.

The worst part is that the shield is also regenerating. As the blood tentacles cut through it and created gaps, those gaps healed before another tentacle could use them to bypass the defense of the shield.

So even though Legion-2’s attack could still overcome the defenses of a shield created by a powerful attack due to the Sever divine ability, it was unlikely that they would be able to hurt the giant this way.

The giant saw that he was safe and deactivated the Invincible divine ability. Then he smirked at Legion-2 and said, “What did I tell you? You can not win.”

“You’ve had your fun. Now prepare yourself for the consequences of your actions.”

As he spoke, he slammed his two fists together, creating a loud sound of metal plates smashing into each other. Then he strode forward with confidence.

But Legion-2 didn’t give up and didn’t give him time to counterattack. He used the Identify Information divine ability again. But this time, he used it on the Shield.

After getting feedback from this divine ability, he enhanced the power of the tentacles with the Bleed divine ability. He also activated the Life Drain divine ability and directed its power on the giant.

Once this was done, he used the Blood Manipulation divine ability to melt the tentacles into liquid and used the liquid to create a cocoon around the giant.

All of these things cost divine energy, but Legion-2 didn’t care. He used everything they had in the pathway of killing, aside from the Blood Sacrifice divine ability.

What he did began to show results immediately. The giant had to stop his plans of taking advantage of Legion-2’s inability to do anything to him, and see what the effect of Legion-2’s new moves are.

What he saw made the grin on his face disappear. He became solemn as he watched the white bubble become unable to heal.

The Bleed divine ability had taken effect on the shield. So once it was cut, it couldn’t heal quickly anymore. This will cause the shield to wear down and grant the tentacles an opportunity to bypass the shield completely.

But things got worse because of the appearance of the cocoon of blood that was trying to envelop and trap him. Instead of attacking a single point on the shield like the tentacles, the cocoon was attacking every exposed area of the shield.

When combined with the Bleed divine ability, the damage caused by the cocoon was slow to heal. So it was just a matter of time before the shield would break and he would be submerged by the cocoon. Once that happens, his fate will be one of painful death.

To top things off, he can already tell how he will die because of the effect of the Life Siphon divine ability in his body.
