Chapter 2572: Caretaker of Dragons

“You are not telling me this just to tell me. You think there is something in that vault that can help me immensely. Am I correct?” Adrian stated as he knew that Basil would not be this excited.

“You are correct, guild leader. An item that will definitely benefit Kanlaon is there, and it is actually being sealed by the five ancient dragons themselves. Hidden in the depths of the vault is none other than a Dragon Orb created by the Mother Goddess Dragon Tiamat herself.” Basil stated which made Adrian’s jaw drop because that is actually a divine item.

“Are you sure?” Adrian asked.

“Yes. I am sure because I even asked the Ancient Dragons about it. They were more than willing to tell me all about it which actually took five hours. They bored me because they recited the entire history of the item to me.” Basil stated.

“Wait. If they are keeping it there, are they not keeping it to give to you?” Adrian asked as the ancient dragons might have kept it there to give to the new Mother of Dragons that arrives in the world.

“Nope. I cannot use that item as we are actually forbidden in using items created from the divine essence of other mothers. We nurture and guide which means we are not allowed to devour other dragons in kind. It would actually harm me instead of helping me.” Basil stated.

“Are you sure that I can get that for Kanlaon if I give you the Core of Blood?” Adrian asked with certainty.

“I am certain. If they do not budge, then I will open the vault personally and take out that item. I have executive access to it.” Basil stated.

“Oh my! Basil is going to commit a crime.” Pana teased.

“We have failed in educating her.” Ark added.

“You two!” Basil exclaimed as she pouted while her dragon babies hissed at the two.

“Do not tease her because her alliance is with her guild. You have done us a great service.” Adrian stated as he showed a thumbs up and a businessman smile.

“You are also teasing me as well, guild leader.” Basil stated as her shoulders slouched. The dragon babies that cling to her could not hiss at Adrian because Kanlaon was there on Adrian’s neck. The dragon babies were all afraid of the Genesis Dragon being inconvenienced by them.

“I thought to just join in on the fun. I have decided that I will put my trust in you.” Adrian stated as he handed over the Core of Blood to Basil.

“Are you sure?! I thought you would at least think more, guild leader.” Basil stated in shock as she did not expect that her guild leader would accept all of a sudden.

“I was just playing with you earlier when I said a 5% boost is good enough. I know that you have a grand quest to revive at least 20 extinct dragon species. I need to at least help with at least one since I am your guild leader.” Adrian stated.

“As expected of the guild leader! You really are the best man in the guild. As expected of Big Sis Frey’s choice! You two should learn a thing or two from the guild leader.” Basil stated as she looked at Ark and Pana in a judging demeanor.

“Slander!” Ark stated in a joking fashion.

“This is her real personality, guild leader. She is not as dorky as everyone thought she would be.” Pana teased.

“I will get you two!” Basil shouted as she chased after Ark and Pana since the two of them started to run after teasing her.

Adrian smiled at the bond between the three of them as it reminded him of his bond with his best friends. He is glad that his guild is a place where people can foster good bonds. He wanted a safe space for them to just have fun, and he is filled with joy as he thought he achieved just that.

“You should level up your agility stat more.” Pana teased as Basil had to stop chasing after them since she could not keep up.

“I hope you all had your fun. Here is the Core of Blood that you needed. So, when can I go inside the vault?” Adrian asked.

“Wait for a moment, guild leader. I will just activate this.” Basil stated.

[You have handed over the Core of Blood to the Mother of Dragons.]

Basil then proceeded to change to her dragon form which is actually very large. She basically covers the entire courtyard in the guild home. She then activated a spell using her draconic tongue that Adrian could somewhat understand. Adrian can understand the draconic language, but he cannot use it because he has no dragon vocal cords needed to use it.

“Maybe if I fuse with Kanlaon… I might be able to do it easily.” Adrian thought as he then saw Basil holding onto the Core of Blood and infusing it with her draconic aura.

The Core of Blood suddenly started to shift from an orb shape to that of an egg shape. Adrian then saw the breath of life arrive before the Core of Blood as it fully transformed into a dragon egg. He did not believe what he saw but Basil basically did what a goddess of life can do. Adrian was very surprised by this ability as it is already in the realm of divine.

Effect:

-All Dragons will no longer be hostile against you and even see you in a friendly manner.

-All Dragons under you will gain 50% increased stats for the first ten minutes in battle which diminishes to 20% after the initial duration.

Description: A title given to beings that have greatly benefited the dragon race.

Note: This title can overlap with the effects of Ancient Dragon Slayer.
