Chapter 2573: Arrival of the Vermillion Bird Friend

“I got an interesting title because of that?” Adrian stated with slight shock.

The given title that he has actually helps him in negating the effects of the Ancient Dragon Slayer title. This is the title that lets him be with the dragons that are hostile to him, and they will see them as a friend. This will definitely help in in dungeons where dragons are the bosses.

The dragons are definitely hostile to him when he suddenly acquired the Ancient Dragon Slayer. Even Kanlaon could feel the terrifying force that is being emitted by his master. The force that comes out of Adrian will make any dragon blood being become hostile or afraid to him. This title basically gives him a good impression on dragon blood beings.

Basil reverted back to her humanoid form, but Adrian could see that there is a dragon egg tied to her life force. This must be the blood dragon that will be born from the Core of Blood. If such a dragon would be born from the collection of the abilities of thousands of blood dragons, then a powerful one would definitely come out.

“Thanks for giving it to me, guild leader. I will inform you once the vault is ready for you.” Basil stated.

“That is fine with me. Just inform me as soon as they give the permission.” Adrian stated as Basil, Ark and Pana immediately left as she was excited to inform the Ancient Dragons of the new dragon egg that they have received.

“They were so excited that they left immediately. Let us now proceed with yours, Kanlaon.” Adrian stated as he gave the Heart of an Ancient Blood Dragon to Kanlaon.

Kanlaon already knew what to do as even he wants to devour this heart. It contained such pure draconic force that actually riles up the blood inside of him. Since Basil said that there would be no problem, Kanlaon ate the heart in one gulp. A powerful force suddenly exploded from Kanlaon’s body that made him undergo sleep.

“Sleep for now and recuperate inside of the Soul Chamber.” Adrian stated as he sent Kanlaon back to the Soul Chamber.

Adrian already made sure that Kanlaon is safe and is only growing in power. He could also feel that Kanlaon’s connection with the tree inside of him has grown stronger than before. Maybe this might be the breakthrough that he needs in order to awaken a domain like the others. If Kanlaon does get a domain from this then Saena might follow the same process. Items that could increase the potency of one’s bloodline is difficult to procure after all.

Adrian then checked on everything that the guild before finally heading towards the eastern continent just as he intended. He immediately opened a portal that directly leads to the outskirts of Vermillion City. He vanished without a trace as he knew that there are people holding the fort.

Adrian appeared outside of Vermillion City and immediately felt the tense atmosphere. The walls outside the city could be seen to have been slightly destroyed. Some of the buildings on the outer area are also destroyed as well. It was evident that a battle has ensued on the premises and that the people are still fixing everything that has been destroyed. Adrian did not even bother hiding his form as hiding will not serve his purpose. He must declare that he is in the vicinity to make the enemy become a bit rash on their actions.

As soon as Adrian arrived at the gates, the guards immediately noticed him because he is the only being there that is different than the rest of the people that want to come inside the city. Also, Adrian felt different compared to the other outsiders that want to get inside. The people of Vermillion City could feel the flames of their guardian deity from Adrian’s body.

The people of Vermillion City were baptized in golden flames that burned all the impurities of their bodies. The sick, old, and frail have all been healed or returned back to their prime because of the golden flames used the by the Vermillion Bird. The flames regenerated even the limbs of people and even brought those that were close to death back to life.

Adrian even felt the divine energy bursting at the seams in Vermillion City which made him doubt if this was the same city that he visited. The people living inside it have this spark inside of them and that is none other than internal energy. All of the people in Vermillion City became beginner stage Immortals without even proper training. The guards were even more powerful compared to when he last visited.

“I guess going to the pagoda is the only way.” Adrian stated as he needs answers.

Adrian passed by the people and all of them stared at him which he expected but their stares were different. They were not staring at Adrian because they find him weird or unsettling. They were staring at him with eyes of admiration and respect. It was like they were seeing their divinity in flesh, and he believes it is the heart that is inside of him.

“It must be the heart of the Vermillion Bird inside of me. If they are seeing me like their deity, then they must have underwent a baptism.” Adrian thought as the baptism of divine energy from a god gives a peculiar sensation of being close to that specific divine entity.

Adrian decided to hurry it up and sped himself by altering time. He even used Time Stop which made him look like he vanished when time has moved. The people that were looking at him with admiration and respect were left wondering where he went. Still, the people only looked at him like they were dazed so they returned back to what they were doing as soon as he vanished.

“We are expecting you, Master Equinox.” Shrine Maidens suddenly stated as soon as Adrian was on the front door of the pagoda.

“Please lead the way then.” Adrian stated as he entered the door before it shut completely from the other side.

The way towards the top of the tower was quiet as the shrine maidens that were the attendants of the Vermillion Bird did not speak as much. They were even practicing the special art of blocking one of their senses to make the others stronger. The shrine maiden leading the group that is leading Adrian is actually blindfolded by a white lace. She cannot see but she was able to greet Adrian without even opening her eyes.

“Are you training to be a Seer?” Adrian asked as those that blind their eyes usually practice awakening the powers of a Seer.

“Yes, Master Equinox. I am currently the only shrine maiden that is training in the Art of a Seer. There can only be one Seer per generation that serves the divine beasts. I am the chosen one to be lucky enough as I have the gift of Foresight already.” The blindfolded Shrine maiden stated.

“Good luck in your endeavor then. It is not easy becoming a Seer and it is also difficult being a Seer.” Adrian stated as the blindfolded Shrine Maiden smiled for his thoughtful remarks.

In fact, Adrian actually felt a bit sad for the blindfolded shrine maiden because Seers are beings that cannot be left alone without guardians or deities that can protect them. They are sought after by every being in this world because they can glimpse at the future. Seers often hide in a place that has special properties that prevents any harm upon them like the Great Star Gazer of the northern continent, or they are under the protection of a god or divine beast.

The problem of being a Seer lies in the fact that they need high mental stability because they could glimpse at world shattering events that can destroy their minds. They are also not able to freely wander the outside world once all of the people learn that they are a Seer. Adrian hoped that this one will be well protected and even have a taste of happiness should she succeed in being one.

“We have arrived. Please proceed inside of the room. We shall wait here for your return.” The blindfolded shrine maiden stated as she bowed to Adrian.

The doors slowly opened to reveal the sleeping form of the Vermillion Bird. As soon as Adrian arrived and entered the vicinity of the room, the Vermillion Bird suddenly woke up and burned in gold and red flames. The happiness that the Vermillion Bird felt from seeing Adrian is immense as it was glad that its friend did not leave it alone to suffer.

Adrian was about to speak when a silhouette of a flaming bird came out of his chest and merged with the Vermillion Bird. In that moment, a flood of memories came rushing into the head of the Vermillion Bird. All of the travels that Adrian has done were sent to the Vermillion Bird.
