Chapter 2694: Peace to East

As soon as the death of the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong was finalized, all of the people of the eastern continent rose their hands in victory. The negative emotions that were making them resent each other vanished. Even the memories that were suppressed by the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong were all released. The people once again bowed in honor of their new guardians which are the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts.

The ones that actively participated in the defeat of the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong and the fallen gods were all given their share of the loot. Adrian even gave some of the items he had for killing the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong. He knew that he could not have succeeded if not for the help of the people that are now here in the eastern continent when he called.

As the people were celebrating the defeat of the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong, Adrian found himself in a place where time has stopped. He saw King Yama clapping his hands as a way to congratulate him for his performance. Adrian already knew that King Yama is present in the battlefield as he is the one that kept that rift opened to make sure that the forces of the eastern underworld will be able to gather the souls of the dead.

“You have exceeded my expectations, Mediator. I am honestly both in awe and terrified at the same time. The power that you use to kill the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong is something that even gods would kill to have.” King Yama stated.

“Just as promised. Here is the soul.” Adrian stated as he presented the soul of the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong.

He did not want to reply to what King Yama said earlier as that would mean he would reveal his secrets. In terms of hierarchy in the relationship, Adrian is actually the superior of King Yama as he is the Mediator of Death. He has no need to answer King Yama as he is merely doing his job.

“Just as the others say, you do not stand in decorum and know what your status is. I wish for us to be closer in the future but it seems that you are in no mood to have pleasantries right now. Still, I thank the Mediator for you have solved the issue that plagued the eastern underworld for a long time.” King Yama stated as he bowed to Adrian as a way to show his utmost respect.

“I will accept the praise but this is still not the end. There are still those that are bound to the cycle of immediate reincarnation.” Adrian stated as he pointed out that there are still fallen gods (the ones that sided with mortals) that is still in the unending cycle of rebirth.

“Fear not, mediator. With the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong gone and the return of my prime, I will be able to influence their cycle again. As you know, I am currently in my weakened state due to the fact that the system in the eastern continent is broken. Now, that is not the case because the people have once again remembered me.” King Yama stated as he turned the soul of the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong into a ring that gives him continuous energy.

Adrian understood what King Yama meant as the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong also restricted the knowledge of the people about the eastern gods of death. It might not have made the eastern gods of death vanish but their ability to operate in the eastern continent became debilitated. Add to the fact that even the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts wanted to restrict information about the eastern gods of death then it is evident that no one would know them.

“I will speak with the new guardians about the situation regarding the gods of life and death. We need to recover the foothold in the eastern continent or else anomalies will once again occur. I expect that you will solve everything once you return to the underworld.” Adrian stated.

“As the mediator wills. This humble one thanks the mediator for bridging the gap between the mortal world and the afterlife. I shall now go and attend to my duties as I have been every entertained on what has transpired here.” King Yama stated as a flaming Torii gate appeared behind him and swallowed him.

Adrian returned back to the worlds original flow of time as King Yama is no longer in the mortal realm. He saw the smiling faces of all his companions as they genuinely celebrated what happened. Some are not all smiles as they learned the limits to their current strength but they all knew they could rise again. Adrian immediately told the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts what needs to happen and they all agreed in the end.

Since the fallen gods were already there, Adrian also explained to them what will happen to them once their mortal bodies expire. Some were glad but some were bitter as they really have enjoyed their mortal lives. Still, it was not the only news that made all of them shocked because the declaration of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts was the most shocking.

“As the mediator said, the East needs to once again recognize the gods of life and death but that is not all. The power of the Primordial Divine Beast Sun Wukong is no longer affecting the Seal of Four Directions. While we can limit the influence of foreign divine beings, the east will no longer be restricted.” The Vermillion Bird of the South stated.

“As of now, new gods may now emerge in the east as change is necessary for our home to thrive.” The Azure Dragon of the East stated.

“This change might bring problems but it will also give back to the valiant heroes that defended their home from the tyranny of the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong.” The White Tiger of the West stated.

“We, the new guardians, shall ensure that all godly beings give positive change to our home. Hence, the restriction of ascension will no longer completely obstructed. Those that can rise to become gods are now given the chance.” The Black Tortoise of the North stated.

These world messages were sent to all of the players and is heard by all of the beings in the eastern continent as well. The Four Cardinal Divine Beasts will no longer restrict the growth of the people in the east but that does not mean they could become a High God easily. They are still restricted by the world barrier that restricts beings up until the Greater God stage.

This means that the Immortals that dreamed to become Divine Immortals may now try their chance of godhood. This does not mean that all Immortals stuck at the bottleneck would suddenly become gods. The Four Cardinal Divine Beasts set up the old law that tests the character and power of the Immortals called the Heavenly Tribulation.

The announcement of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts brought joy to the fallen gods as they can now try ascending back to their former glory. The Heavenly Court could once again be created if they regain their lost divinity. This is also what the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts wanted as the Heavenly Court was the organization that kept the Immortals in check.

“I guess the east will have its peace for the time being but there will definitely be quite a ruckus after a few months.” Peridot stated.

“Even if we have defeated the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong which is the main source of the problem, the people of the eastern continent are already accustomed to rising to godhood. If they did not then they would not strive to become what they call as Immortals.” Adrian stated as he flew in the sky to get the attention of everyone.

“The battle has been won. I thank all of you for giving your heart and those that also gave their life. You will all be remembered as heroes that gave your home a chance. The spell that created the rifts will vanish in an hour. I wish to keep it longer but it will strain this realm too much. Please return to your homes and thank you for your valiant service!” Adrian announced as all of the beings cheered for one last time before they returned back to their homes via the rift.

Adrian is thankful that they returned without a fuss which made him have enough time to check on the things that he needed to. He then pulled out the bronze looking heavenly cudgel as it no longer shined in its golden light. The divine energy of the heavenly artifact was no more as he used all of it to deal a powerful blow against the Primordial Divine Dragon Huanglong.
