Chapter 2700: Asgard Descends II

“The only way we can overturn what is happening now is through that beast’s power. Unless you can regain your strength as a High God, we have no other choice. It took a large amount of your own strength to even bring the entirety of Asgard here. We cannot have you sleep for ten years just to expand our territory again.” The God Loki stated as he knew that the God Odin needs to be at full power.

“The Beast of Ogdoad will also need to replenish its own existence. Do you think that I am lesser than a beast?” The God Odin stated as he glared at the God Loki with his one eye.

“Of course, not but we need you at full strength if we want to conquer this world. We might have broken through a part of the divine barrier but the other gods will have ways to descend. The western gods could even descend fully as long as they are in their sacred territories.” The God Loki stated.

“What he says is true, father. In terms of progress, the western gods have already beaten us but they must have signed some oath to never invade other continents hence they are not being punished the by world like us.” The God Thor stated.

“I guess even a musclehead can use their brains once in a while.” The God Loki stated as he snickered.

“Even if we used the power of the Beast of Ogdoad, it cannot reverse the laws created by the world as it is now. It would need to have the power of a High God to even do something about it.” The God Odin stated.

“It is simple. We just need to feed it beings with divine power or we can let it rampage while escorting it. There are a few settlements here in the northern continent so why not make use of it to conquer them. We strengthen it while also pushing our plan for conquest.” The God Loki stated.

“I do not know what you are up to Loki but I hope that all of it is for the betterment of our kingdom.” The God Odin stated.

“Do not worry, Odin. Remember that we have made an Oath of Brotherhood which makes me unable to harm you in anyway. I just want revenge on the demon that dared to kill my son.” The God Loki stated as he showed anger but also made sure to conceal another emotion behind it.

“If that is what is needed then I will give you temporary ownership of the Beast of Ogdoad.” The God Odin stated as he created a medallion with an engraving of a raven on it.

“With that seal, you will have command over the beast and also be able to punish it should it show any form of resistance. I know someone as intelligent as you should be able to make full use of it.” The God Odin added as he tossed the medallion towards the God Loki.

“Do not worry because I already thought of a plan to easily empower it. There are still some demigod level beasts in this frigid region after all. We shall start with hunting them to make the Beast of Ogdoad more powerful. It seems the maiden army has come.” The God Loki stated but his attention suddenly shifted to the outside of the territory.

Just as the God Loki stated, the Valkyries have appeared riding their flying horses. The Valkyrie did not charge recklessly into battle though as they made sure to assess what is happening now. Asgard is still a large place which means the Valkyries do not know that the Asgardian Gods were utilizing the Beast of Ogdoad or are in control of it.

“It seems they have started the artillery assault.” The God Loki stated as the spears of the Valkyries glowed and it rained down on Asgard.

“Do they really think that they can lay waste to my kingdom with just that?!” The God Odin stated as his voice reverberated to all the halls of Asgard and it activated the golden barrier that protected the kingdom from the attack of the Valkyries.

“Let me deal with the Valkyries, father. I should be sufficient enough to battle them all.” The God Thor stated.

“You should remember that you will drop in strength if you go outside that barrier. You will be relegated to the strength of a lesser god.” The God Loki stated.

“Here you again with talks of ranks, brother. You always say this and that about ranks when I always defeat you despite being of equal strength. I am a warrior hardened by war and not by mind exercises. I can deal with a few Valkyries with the support of the other gods that can shoot them down.” The God Thor stated with confidence.

“Whatever you say. I shall go and use the Bifrost channels that we have placed to teleport to the areas where those demigod beasts are. Come, Beast of Ogdoad. It is time for you to fill up and serve our ideals.” The God Loki stated but the Beast of Ogdoad clearly glared at him.

The Beast of Ogdoad has to obey every order of the gods that have managed to chain it but it knew that will be able to escape. It just needs to act the part of being subservient enough for them to lower their guard. It will use its own ability once it has gained the power of a high god once again.

“Go and protect our kingdom, my son. I will make sure that none of us will be harmed so make them know who the God of Thunder really is.” The God Odin stated.

“Yes, Father.” The God Thor stated as he raised Mjolnir into the sky and flew towards the Valkyries.

Meanwhile, the God Loki smiled sinisterly as the light of the Bifrost sent him to the locations of the demigod beasts. The Valkyries were planning another attack but they suddenly saw the clear skies become dark clouds and a powerful godly presence shoot towards them. The Valkyries felt the power of a greater god coming from the presence they detected but it suddenly became weaker when that being left the premises of Asgard.

“So, it is true that I have grown weaker. Does the world truly hate what we have done? No matter, I have already resigned my fate to this and must carry on the will of my father.” The God Thor stated as he is now surrounded by the Valkyries.

“God of Thunder!” The Valkyries shouted as they did not care for small talk because they have been told by their goddess to destroy the Asgard that descended or else the balance of the world will be destroyed.

The Valkyries hurled their energy spears towards the God Thor but he merely brushed them away with a powerful blast of wind. The God Thor did not even use much divine energy but just his pure physical might as he just needed to sweep his hammer around him. This simple move made all of the Valkyries in high alert as the might of the God Thor is definitely not weaker despite being out of the Asgardian territory.

“Brunhild, we once shared the battlefield together. I ask you as comrades that spilt blood together to join me once again. Your sisters will be an asset for Asgard once more for the upcoming conquest.” The God Thor stated as he directed his words to the Valkyrie leader before him.

“What you are doing is not conquest, Thunder God. What you are doing is merely invasion! My goddess already told us everything on how you even imprisoned her. Do you think that we do not know that some of the gods that have rebelled are still under the prisons of Asgard?! You deprive them of their divine energy to sustain Asgard even now.” Brunhild shouted.

“Everything is for the glory of Asgard! Their sacrifice is what is making it thrive even now! What is more glorious than giving your own body for Asgard!” The God Thor shouted as if he became a maniac that only lives and breathes for Asgard without disregard to those that once lived there.

“If it was so glorious then why not use your own body instead of relying on those so-called traitors you mentioned. Why should they sacrifice their bodies when you seem to be perfectly capable of doing so?” Brunhild stated.

“They are weak. Even the weak can have its uses instead of being useless.” The God Thor stated with a terrifying smile that shows his clear personality of having no remorse to those weaker than him.

“This is the real you after all and it sickens me. You never had the warrior spirit because all you wanted to do is flaunt and be arrogant. As expected, I really hated you ever since I learned that true face of yours.” Brunhild stated but the God Thor looked incredibly angry that he summoned thunderbolts to rain down on the entire area.
