Chapter 2709: Consequences of a Destroyed World Barrier

The destruction of the world divine barrier might not have impacted the world to a large degree but smaller rifts started to be created once again in mass numbers. The ones that are affected by the rifts are none other than the normal people as some can lead to other worlds while some will have monsters pouring out.

The spatial anomalies are not like the rifts being unstable because they have become gateways to random parts of miniature worlds. This is both a blessing and a curse for those that find these rifts as some could lead to valuable treasure while others open a door to doom. This is unlike before as the world itself could not repair the rifts as the instability of the world divine barrier prevents it from doing so.

“The situation is now chaotic. Some rifts are larger and stronger while others are flimsy. The problem is that their numbers have become too much for us to even close. Other similar rifts are slowly opening up as well. We are already trying our best but there might even be rifts opened from the bottom of the sea or ocean.” Elder Koronn stated as the others have returned.

“We should focus our efforts in the rifts that are dangerous.” Elder Ascalor stated.

“I think we should hit the problem where it is.” Adrian stated as his suggestion made all of the elders look at him.

“You are being too optimistic about our strength and underestimating our opponent too much.” Elder Bronx stated.

“Is the gap between us that huge?” Adrian asked.

“If we had the old man then we might be able to destroy their barrier but we will not be able to focus on fixing the rift. Those gods are too well-prepared as if they were already expecting this to happen. The barrier around that castle is not normal as it even withstands my own attack.” Elder Bronx stated.

“That god king did not really join the attack with the intent to kill. He has his own divine weapon in hand which means he has yet to show what he can do.” Elder Ascalor stated.

“But what the boy says is true. If we wipe them out now then all our troubles will vanish. They are the ones that is protecting that rift as if they still need something. Perhaps they do not want to close it since they could truly die now. If they have the rift open then they could retreat back to the divine realm and escape true death.” Elder Koronn stated as he actually sided with Adrian on this one.

“Perhaps, the kid is correct. We cannot stop the rifts from forming unless we destroy it from the source. We should prepare for war then and show them the might of the demons.” Elder Ascalor stated but Adrian suddenly felt a powerful energy closing in on his territory.

Just as Adrian is about to check his messages, a powerful flaming sword slammed down towards his territory but the barrier managed to block it perfectly. The only problem is that the mana contained in the cores of the islands lost quite a bit of quantity. The strike was quick and undetectable even for the other demons. This means that the attacker is powerful enough to hide their presence from them.

“Initiate evacuation drills for all residents now.” Adrian entered the evacuation command and all of the non-combatant residents of Avalon went inside their pocket dimension homes or the pocket dimension evacuation area.

“Who dares attack us?!” The Three Elders shouted in rage as all of them vanished from the control room with Adrian to see who would dare attack the Daemos.

“Sturdier than I imagined.” A god that has all the clothes of a divine ruler in the southern continent with a flaming head stated.

“Do not idle, Bhasmasura. You have been given clear orders to destroy this area.” A serpentine divine being coiled around water spheres stated.

“Do you think it is easy?! That territory is considered sacred ground! Do you think that taking it over or destroying it is easy?!” Bhasmasura stated as his own head burned brighter due to the anger he felt.

“Who dares attack my territory?!” Adrian stated as the elders are now behind him.

Adrian immediately felt the divine energy inside of the two beings before him. He knew they were divine beings but something about their divine energy was different. They were clearly gods but their divine energy is mixed with something else. The energy itself was not foreign or that of a dark god but it is different from the feeling of divine energy from gods that he met before.

“We were told that they are not here! Vritra, you lying snake!” Bhasmasura stated.

“They are demons, flaming head! They might have returned just now.” Vritra stated.

Adrian felt that these two gods were dismissing him and were only focusing on themselves. He was about to make a move but the elders were the first to be offended for his sake. Elder Ascalor immediately made a slicing motion which created a powerful wave of energy that can cut through space itself. As soon as Elder Ascalor made a move, the two divine beings immediately shut up and used spells to destroy the attack that the elder sent towards them.

“Are the people of the central continent this barbaric?! Suddenly attacking when we were talking.” Bhasmasura stated but he became wary.

“I shall ask once more out of courtesy. Why have you attacked my territory?! If you speak now and tell me everything, I might be merciful enough to just kill both of you and not sunder your souls.” Adrian stated but the two divine beings just laughed at his statement.

“This is what happens when demons believe they are the strongest. I do not like being looked down upon by a mortal.” Vritra stated as he sent powerful heat waves towards Adrian.
