Chapter 2716: Defending Avalon V

“Sorry, I am a bit late.” Adrian stated as he entered the dimension where Elder Bronx was.

“Oh! You are here, boy. Perfect! This bugger here keeps telling me that his divine soul will just return to his temple even if we kill him. Will that really happen?” Elder Bronx asked as he is not really that knowledgeable in the concept of souls especially if divine beings are involved.

“What he said is correct…” Adrian stated and is about to say something more but Bhasmasura suddenly started to speak.

“See! What did I tell you, demon!? You can never truly kill me for I am a divine being! An Asura!” Bhasmasura stated as if it is undeniable.

“Maybe you should have destroyed the jaw for this chatty one, Elder Bronx. I was not yet finished and it started to squeal already. Back to what I was saying, what he said is correct but that is only possible during normal circumstances. You see, I am the Mediator of Death, and what they have attacked is my territory.

By the divine laws etched into the universe, any divine being that attacks another divine being’s realm shall be subject to the discretion of the defender. In other words, if you die here, I can easily trap your soul and claim it as compensation for the sudden attack that happened. I needed some divine souls to evolve one of my soulbounds anyways. Can I have his soul, elder?” Adrian stated as his form shifted to what he looks like in Limbo for a moment before reverting back to his usual form.

“Sure. Let me just enjoy destroying this arrogant bastard’s body.” Elder Bronx stated as he vanished from his location and appeared on top of Bhasmasura.

“Galactic Press!” Elder Bronx stated as he slammed like a golden meteor and decimated what remained of Bhasmasura’s body.

[Bhasmasura has been killed by one of your citizens.]

“I must get out of here!” Bhasmasura’s soul suddenly bolted out but Adrian already made sure that there is no escape.

From Adrian’s shadow, an undead made of chains suddenly emerged and bound the divine soul of Bhasmasura. The chains of an undead as powerful as Charon himself is not something even Bhasmasura could destroy. The reason for this is that Charon is blessed by a death god and such blessing gives him some authority over death.

“What?! How can I be trapped?! Release me this instant or I shall call upon all of my followers to destroy your territory!” Bhasmasura stated but Adrian could care less of the threats.

“Tell me, why did you attack my territory?” Adrian stated as he tried to use his authority over souls to have Bhasmasura speak the truth on why his territory is suddenly attacked.

“Do you think that your control over souls can have an effect on me?! I am an Asura! Even in death, we cannot be controlled!” Bhasmasura stated.

“Is that so? If you will not talk then I have no use for you. You can proceed to devour his soul, Charon.” Adrian commanded.

Bhasmasura thought that he would just be trapped in a soul sealing artifact or something which is why he proudly stated that he will not speak. The gods of death of the Southern Continent are indifferent to what is happening to the other gods in their sphere of influence. This also relates to why the gods or divine beings in the southern continent do not fear Adrian or what he is capable of.

Charon suddenly transformed to his original size and also his true form which is a large undead fiend made of chains and undead energy. A large mouth appeared on Charon’s body which looked like a horrifying metal teethed cage. It also leads directly to Charon’s special organ that devours souls which Adrian does not let him use.

Adrian does not want Charon to devour souls because there is a balance that should be kept. Charon is forbidden to devour the souls of mortals and such but the divine is another rule entirely. Unlike the souls of mortals that need to undergo reincarnation, the souls of divine beings are outside it. This meant that Charon can devour souls of divine beings if Adrian commanded him to.

“Wait! I will talk!” Bhasmasura shouted as he is now at the very entrance of Charon’s large mouth.

“Really? Unfortunately for you, there are two of you. I only need one to speak the truth so I bet the serpent will be more reluctant when I make an example out of you. Also, you should rejoince because you shall serve as a warning for those that dared to attack my territory.” Adrian stated as his smile made even Bhasmasura shudder in fright.

“Eat him.” Adrian added.

“NOOOOO!” Bhasmasura stated as he got engulfed completely by Charon and his divine soul destroyed.

Adrian did not expect a series of messages to appear but he welcomed it. Charon got stronger and he got stronger when fighting against divine beings. Adrian did not know that his simple action made him the number one feared being by the gods. He did not know that the act of destroying the divine soul of a god would get him plastered in the world messages.

[Equinox has destroyed the soul of the Asura named Bhasmasura.]

[The Asura Bhasmasura is no more and all items related to him shall lose their effects.]

The destruction of the relics related to Bhasmasura is not the only thing. Back at the southern continent, all of the followers of Bhasmasura fainted as if they had a seizure. The god that they praised and served suddenly died which also impacted the believers.
