Chapter 2717: Chaos in the Southern Continent

[Equinox has destroyed the soul of the Asura named Bhasmasura.]

One world message struck all the players and even the beings in the world because it was the start of true chaos. The death of an Asura is not something that ca be done easily as there are very few beings that can bring true death to another god. The Asuras may not be called gods directly but they are still considered gods due to them being worshipped and having followers.

The chaos in the southern continent started with this message. All of the followers of Bhasmasura suddenly got visions in their heads of their god being devoured by a monster and dying. The pain was equally shared among all of the followers but it was too much to bear even for mortal standards. All of the followers of Bhasmasura fainted with their mouths foaming as soon as they finished viewing the hallucination.

The gods of the southern continent suddenly became restless because one of them has been killed permanently. Even if some of them are in rivaling factions, they are still in one group and they are connected to one another via their cosmic chain as they call it. The cosmic chain is basically the connection that each of the gods in the southern continent have and it preserves balance in the continent.

A part of the cosmic chain is suddenly broken as Bhasmasura died. The other gods that can handle the same responsibility as Bhasmasura had to takeover but an emergency meeting is called upon by the gods of the southern continent. All of them wanted to know what happened to Bhasmasura because they did not even know how he died or where he died. It was only when they learned of the world message that they knew that Bhasmasura was not in his temple.

The gods of the southern continent are about to convene with one another when another ominous message appeared before them. It was the true death of another god and it is from the Asura faction again. The cosmic chain suddenly got another load to bear as the heaviness of losing two gods is exponential in difficulty.

Another world message occurred and this time it is the true death of the Asura named Vritra. The followers of the Asura Vritra also saw horrific visions of their god being torn apart by a monster. They even got even more to their vision as they have seen how their god was frozen in place before it was devoured by a monster. After the visions of their god being destroyed finished, the followers of Vritra fainted but their mouths did not bubble. Instead, all of the followers of Vritra vomited out their stomach acid.

“THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! ASURAS MUST ALL ATTEND!” A powerful declaration from the leader of all gods in the southern continent stated.

The voice of the God King of the Southern Continent spread out through the entire continent just by using some of his divine power. As soon as the voice of their god king is heard, all of the people that are native and worship gods in the southern continent had to bow. They were now being blessed by the voice of their supreme god after all.

Normal people do not know what their supreme god said as they cannot fully comprehend divine energy after all. Despite that, they do know the presence and the tone of voice of their supreme god which is why they are showing respect. The only ones that can understand the message are the other divine beings or those that have divine energy in their bodies.

“It seems that the demon made a big commotion that concerns the gods of the southern continent.” White stated as she was talking to Hou Yiwei.

“It seems those Asuras were greedy in thinking they could capture Avalon. We did give them the coordinates and the path but we also warned them that that is the land of demons.” Ork stated.

“We merely provided them the information with regards to what they want. I now have what I want as well and now I am stronger than before. I always thought that dragons were the pinnacle existence in this world but it is gods that rule in the end which is why I have become a demigod.” Hou Yiwei stated as his entire body is now fully human looking but he is in fact a demigod now.

“Still, are you sure about this decision? You were almost a true dragon after all.” White asked.

“Even dragons are the playthings of gods in the myth of where I live. I regret nothing even if the dragons now despise me. They merely treated me as a worker and forgot about me when the Mother of Dragons arrived.” Hou Yiwei stated as he is still bitter that all of the affection of the dragons shifted to another player just because what she does is more important.

“So, what are going to do next? Are we heading north to hunt down the Asgardian Gods?” Ork asked.

“No, our guild will form an alliance with the Asgardian Gods. They are conquerors after all and will definitely win this battle. Do not forget that the Asuras are also in their side. This is not just a battle of one faction versus the others. This is a battle between the gods themselves and only the most powerful ones will be left.” Hou Yiwei stated as he commanded his guild to march to the port as they will head to the northern continent.

“Even the snake did not have any useful information.” Adrian stated as Charon devoured the soul of the defeated Vritra.

The only information that Vritra gave them is that they have been working with the Asgardian gods. In fact, Bhasmasura and Vritra passed through the crack created by the Asgardian Gods but they were immediately sent to the southern continent after. It seems that the Asgardian Gods have other ways to transport across the world. Adrian suspected that they might have secret Bifrosts around the world.

Vritra did put up a good fight against Elder Koronn but time is on the side of demons. In the end, even a divine being affected by the mortal realm will rely on time itself. Elder Koronn merely froze time on a god which is said to be quite difficult as gods are ageless. Time should not affect gods but Vritra managed to deduce why Elder Koronn’s temporal magic could affect him.

“You have the blood of a Time God flowing in your veins!” Vritra stated which actually angered Elder Koronn even more.

Elder Koronn suddenly became fired up and froze Vritra in time with all his might. Elder Koronn’s true form is also shown as he used all of his might to go against a god. Elder Koronn now has golden gears as armor and accessories. He even has clockwork gears moving inside of his armor itself and an aura that creates temporal anomalies around him. Another notable change is that his singular horn is now golden in color with gear markings and runes.

In the end, Adrian got to interrogate Vritra but the latter was killed due to mediocre information given. Elder Koronn essentially made the temporal anomaly freezing Vritra explode which vaporized even the body of a god. The soul of Vritra tried to escape but Charon easily captured it like with Bhasmasura’s soul. Just like Bhasmasura, Vritra refused to say anything anymore and his soul ended up getting devoured.

“Can you really destroy gods like that, little one?” Elder Koronn asked with a concerned face as he knows that killing gods is a very grave offense that will make other gods fear you and try to kill you.

“It seems Elder Koronn is already aware of his origins somewhat. He seems to be knowledgeable on topics regarding gods. I thought he did not know but it seems that he is just feigning ignorance to avoid trouble. I will use that technique sometimes to get out in troublesome situations.” Adrian thought.

“You do not need to worry about Divine Retribution, Elder Koronn. What I did is justified because they have attacked a divine sanctuary. Do you think that I invited the gods of death to my territory just because I felt like it? They also attacked the Tree of Life and Death first which is already a punishable offense by the Guardian of the Tree of Life and Death.

Since Saena is the guardian, I, as her master, is by proxy given the same authority as the guardian. It means I can punish gods or other divine beings that the Tree of Life and Death deem as problematic. The lightest punishment is actually death hence the verdict. I am only carrying out the will of the Tree of Life and Death itself after all.” Adrian said with a smile but even Elder Koronn knew that this cheeky demon child is plotting something.
