Chapter 863: Getting Some Information
Chapter 863: Getting Some Information
[Lightning Peak – Base of the Mountain]
“Let’s stay here for now. Tomorrow, after everything is set, we will climb to face the beast that lives here.” Kent retrieved a small tent and infused it with his energy. It inflated, and soon a large enough tent was set up.
He took out a Tier 12 Array that Alina had made for him. It could be used to conceal the presence of anything.
Kent activated it, and soon, the tent became invincible.
Kent carried the unconscious Iver inside and put him on one side of the tent. It was spacious enough for more than thirty people, so Adina was able to find a corner, making sure she was far from Kent.
Kent just chuckled when he saw that.
A few minutes later, he snapped his fingers, and Iver woke up with a throbbing headache.
“Get it all out, buddy. I have some stuff to ask you,” Kent said, looking at the panting young man whose mind was no longer his.
Kent could easily access his memories; however, he didn’t want to mess with his mind and accidentally turn Iver into an idiot, as he had a mission for him.
He wanted Iver to speak for himself, and since he had control over his mind, Kent knew he would speak like a parrot.
After 20 minutes, Iver managed to calm down a bit.
“First of all, tell me who you are,” Kent asked, and like he expected, Iver started to sing like a bird.
“My name is Iver Hvvyt Huip. I am from Planet Menelaus and a member of the Red Devils Mercenary Guild.”
“What was your mission?”
“We were instructed to intercept a lady who will be passing through here and bring her in dead or alive.”
“Who gave you the mission?”
“It came from the Incubus King from Planet Psyche.”
“What do you know about this Incubus King?” Kent wanted to know everything. The mission he was on was a delicate one, and as such, he wanted to know everything so he could plan well.
After all, the more information he has now, the better his future plans will be if the need arises.
“He is a Supreme King.”
Kent raised his brow, hearing something new. “A Supreme King. What does that mean?”
“A Supreme King is a king in a Supreme High World. Planet Psyche is a Supreme High World, so the king ruling over it is naturally a Supreme King.”
“I see.” Kent turned and looked at Adina, who was pretending she wasn’t listening to the conversation despite having her fist clenched so hard her palm had started bleeding.
“So, how many of you were sent after her, and if possible, tell me their power levels.”
Iver was more than happy to answer Kent. “Aside from us, ten other mercenary groups took the mission. Among the ten, we rank seventh in strength and last in number.
The top team is the Iron Brigade, a team of metal men, and the strongest in my world. The second team is made up of elves. They are dangerous and bloodthirsty by nature. Their leader is a half-Elf, half-Dark Elf.
As for the third team, all of them are assassins, so I don’t know much about them. All three top teams have a Level 9 Spirit Lord leader and two Level 8 Spirit Lords.”
Kent scratched the back of his head.
‘I am out of my league here,’ he had to admit. The mission was one he would have loved to spend more time on; however, he also knew that the more time he wasted, the closer the danger would get to him.
So he must hurry and send Adina on her way before perhaps risking his life.
“Tell me, is there a Level 2 Ascension stage cultivator also on this mission?”
Iver paused for a moment, unsure how to answer the question. However, upon thinking for a minute, he understood the question.
“If you are talking about the Wandering Demon Swordsman, then perhaps yes.”
“Wait, what did you say?” Kent moved in closer, almost killing Iver with his eyes.
“The Wandering Demon Swordsman.”
“I will be damned.” Kent laughed and sat back. “Looks like I didn’t come here by accident. There is a much higher calling that I must fulfill before leaving.”
All of a sudden, Kent felt like this mission had just gotten more interesting.
“Tell me more about this Wandering Demon Swordsman.”
“He is dangerous, very dangerous, in fact. I only learned about him when I found out he would be joining us on the mission. But from what I gathered, he is a Sword King who is almost touching the Heavenly Sword Energy to become a Sword Emperor.
He is a blood demon who preys on the blood of his kills, and while he is not from a Supreme High World, he has the power to go to one and perhaps roam it.
I even learned he killed a Sword Emperor and has been on the run ever since. There are many bounties on his head, but no one dares go against him, not even Sword Emperors after finding out he killed one of them.”
“So he is a big shot that everyone wants dead, but is afraid to face him. Am I right?”
Iver nodded to Kent’s question.
“The highest bounty on his head was issued by the Olive Sword Guild located in my world. The reward is one everyone would want, but nobody dares go against the Wandering Demon Swordsman.”
“I see.” Kent turned to Adina, who now seemed to have turned a little pale, hearing such a person was after her.
Kent smiled, “Looks like I will have to send you away to the Teleportation Mountain much faster. If there is such a person here, I can only greet him and see if we can have a lovely chat.”
Adina looked at him for a few minutes before asking, “You said your name is Kent, right?”
“The one and only.”
“Then are you perhaps Kent Madson?” Adina asked again, and Kent’s smile froze.
“I never told you my surname.”
“So you are Kent Madson,” Adina asked, and Kent stood up, looking at her weirdly. He didn’t know why she asked, but he intended to find out.
“Yes, I am Kent Madson.”
Adina didn’t say anything, but Iver spoke.
“So you are the one the entire universe is looking for.”
“Say what now?” Such a question took aback Kent.
“Oh, you didn’t know?” Adina chimed in. “Apparently, out of nowhere, a name—’ Kent Madson’—appeared on the Sword Dao Tablet, and ever since, everyone has been searching for you.
And in case you are not aware, the Sword Dao Tablet only records the names of people who have accomplished great feats on the path of the sword.
There are now fourteen names on it. The first thirteen are all legends who walked the path of the sword.
Now, your name has appeared on such a tablet, and while many masters are searching for you to become their disciples, powerful families and planets are also searching for you to either kill you or make you their pawn if they have the power.
It will be best if you stay low-key for a while. Trust me, you don’t want to become like me, always on the run.”
Adina spoke with a sigh in the end…
