Chapter 807 - 807: The Fallen Celestial Dread [Bonus!!!]
💃🏽🥳💃🏽
As for Laurene, her expression was quite dark as she never expected to see the face of Arnold’s ‘Maid’ here. She had known the woman was a Celestial, but she never expected that she was a Fallen Higher Existence!
She, as well as the other Celestials, had been hunted down after losing a war with the Infernal Devils. These were the strongest Devil Race subspecies that existed in the Universe, and their bad blood with Celestials ran as deep as the enmity between demons and gods.
The ‘Infernal Devil King’ who had instigated this war, was a being on the same level of Authority within the Universe’s Pantheon as Artemisia.
She was far stronger than him, though.
“I understand you have questions, but let me finish first.”
Evan spoke to pull everyone’s attention back to himself, but before he continued, David posed a question.
“Which one of these FCDs is the most dangerous? The ‘Heavenly Celestial’?”
In response to David’s question, Evan snapped his fingers and turned the hologram’s format into a list, displaying them from Strongest to Weakest.
“Faulin’s actually their leader, but he’s not the strongest. That title belonged to Conroe—his son.”
When Evan said this, Roselia raised a brow and asked.
“What’s with this schtick of the Strongest not being the Leader? First, the Demonic Hand, and now these guys.”
“Don’t ask me. They’re the ones who decide things that way.”
Evan shrugged as he replied, his expression showing he had little desire to understand why things were this way.
“Well, to be honest, Faulin was the strongest at one point, then his kid surpassed him. But he remained the leader because of seniority reasons.”
After that little short, Evan clapped his hands and the Holograms expanded, displaying little text shorts under the names of the FCDs.
“Their powers have been continuously depleting over the past two millennia, which was why by the time Roselia and Nadarus over here met Qutia last year, he was a…?”
He threw the question over to the two High Demons, and Roselia answered in place of Nadarus whose attention was elsewhere.
“Grandmaster.”
“I see, that’s lower than I expected.”
Evan muttered the second half of his statement to himself, but the superhuman ears of everyone present caught this mutter. Before any questions could be asked, Evan turned towards Laurene and spoke.
“You’ve had a nasty expression these past few minutes and I can assume why. Don’t worry about Brenda. I can’t say I personally like her, but she’s at least not in league with Faulin and the others.
She doesn’t even know all this is happening.”
Evan walked forward, moving in between the tables as he expanded the range of the holograms to fill the class.
“Leaving aside the Elder Celestial, Brenda; Leviah over here has helped us assassinate five of the ones who’d have been serious nuisances. And Cheisnih ate one for dinner.
Among the others, there are some that despite everything, we CANNOT kill them.”
“You say they’re planning to kill millions, and you tell us not to kill them?”
Lloris questioned Evan with a frown and Evan nodded as he turned to face the man.
“Yes. If you kill them, you’d die. It’s as simple as that.
These Celestials are not spread out across the three Continents on this Planet for no reason. It was part of the deal they made in return for taking refuge here.
Don’t ask about that deal, I wouldn’t tell you even if I could.
Just know that we have to keep the FCDs above a certain number or we’d bring an even greater disaster for Aidos.”
Evan’s voice was devoid of life when he spoke, his tone emotionless, his expression blank, and his eyes cold. This stark contrast to his usual demeanour, or even his occasional seriousness, left everyone feeling unsettled.
However, the boy suddenly switched back to normal and continued talking like normal.
“The FCDs have a desire to regain their old power, and the threat they pose is due to the means they plan to use in regaining that power.
Said means would result in the number of Tarsian Citizens reducing by the millions.”
“Why do they always have to kill millions of people? Why can’t they find a way to recover their power that doesn’t involve genocide?”
Eliza questioned with an exasperated sigh and Evan smiled wryly as he replied.
“I wish they would, but unfortunately, the means that involve people dying and souls being absorbed tend to be the faster means to achieve things.
It’s just like the Demonic Hand and their World Formation. The FCDs are in a hurry since their powers are depleting faster, so they’ve chosen this very fast means for them to regain their power.
If they succeed, it would not even take an hour for one of them to surpass Transcendence.”
That was very fast, especially when one considered the amount of energy required for this.
“Their plan involves extracting and refining the souls of millions, converting these souls to energy and using this energy to replenish their lost power.
Souls are made of pure energy, so they make very good fuel sources for the FCDs; and the stronger the Soul, the more energy they get.
Every one of them is at least a ‘High-Celestial’ or ‘Arch-Celestial’ and their leader is an ‘Elder-Breed’, meaning they are stronger than normal breeds and have higher energy quality.
It also means the Souls they’d need to absorb to regain their power, would be a LOT MORE.
Since they are Celestials, it’d be more efficient for them to absorb the souls of fellow Celestials, and where on the Alpha Continent do you have the highest Celestial population?”
When Evan asked this question, he looked right at Lloris present, and the man responded after a second.
“Tarse…that’s why they chose here.”
If you said ‘Celestial’, then you were talking about 75% of Tarse’s 500 million+ population. That was 10 figures.
Evan nodded and snapped his fingers, shifting aside the holograms of the FCDs and displaying a map of Tarse’s Osaburg Region.
In the hologram, the cities Caresos, Grahsa, Usrolis, Zlunard Metropolis, Kreah Trade City, Zanclike, Knidyma City and Olake were highlighted in red.
On a map, all these cities were roughly situated in a circle around Naxetus—the Region’s Capital.
“Each city highlighted in red is one with an FCD in it, and we’d be splitting up to handle them across these cities.
Emperor Lloris, I’d need your help for clearance to use the waypoints when necessary, since they’d be the fastest means to move around.”
Lloris nodded in affirmation as he looked at the map, noting that each one of these cities in question was one with a very high population.
“The FCDs are going to duplicate the Souls they reap using the power of the World Law of Replication, effectively enabling them to get twice as much energy from one soul.”
With another clap of his hands, lines appeared on the map, passing through Osaburg with many of these lines intersecting in Kreah. However, many present did not understand what these lines meant.
“Those represent Energy Veins.
Just as blood flows through our bodies via our veins, energy similarly flows through the planet, and a lot of these Energy Veins intersect in Tarse due to its position in the Continent’s Centre. When more than 3 intersect, they become ‘Hotspots’.
Take Kreah Trade City, that place has a lot of powerful adventurers gathering because of its dungeons…the Dungeons are there because 7 energy veins intersect underneath that city, granting it a high ambient energy concentration.
The FCDs are also going to steal some energy from the Planet’s Energy veins, and that’s the location where Heavenly Celestial Faulin most likely is.”
Evan sat on a table and put down the cane he was holding, taking a deep breath as he continued speaking.
“If even one of these FCDs is to succeed in regaining their power, the Alpha Continent would suffer.
A Deity is not something we can deal with, but they’d have no problem dealing with us.
Regaining their Deity power would make it easy for them to reap millions of souls with the wave of their hands, and these souls would serve as fuel for the other FCDs to regain their power.
Each one needs millions, and there are over 10 of them. You can imagine how many innocents would die.
And if these innocents die, the Demonic Hand who was responsible for the incidents in Tarse, and Lacertilia would benefit.”
Evan was now revealing one of the main reasons he wanted the FCDs out of the picture. Everyone here knew of the connection between the ‘Dullahan Attack’ of 1052 and the ‘Lizard Lord’s Outbreak’ of 1053—they knew both incidents were orchestrated by the same hands.
“The ‘World Formation’ the Demonic Hand has deployed on the planet absorbs the energies given off by a Soul when an Existence dies, draws their blood and absorbs a good chunk of residual energy left in their bodies.
Mass deaths happening in a short span of time within the same area would prompt the formation to condense and refine this energy, increasing its quality.
If there is a Node of the World Formation nearby, then the energy is further amplified exponentially.”
When Evan spoke up to this point, he paused, and seeing his expression, Lloris frowned.
“You’re joking, right?”
Lloris’ sharp mind had already figured out why Evan’s unspoken words, but the man did not want to believe his conjecture was true.
Isobel and Késhaun found Lloris’ reaction strange, and when they looked at Evan, they saw the boy shake his head and speak.
“There are not one, but two Executives of the Demonic Hand currently in Tarse. I spent the past 3 days confirming this.
Each Executive is a World Formation Node, and if the FCDs execute their plan, all the energy in the bodies of those who die would be amplified by them and sent into the World Formation.
My efforts to destabilize it by killing two of their Executives…would come to nought if all the FCDs regain their power.”
“…Evan, why are they Demonic Hand Executives in Tarse?”
At this point, everyone present already knew the answer, still the Tarsians here did not want to believe it. Evan’s reply, however, shattered this attempt at denying reality.
“That’s because the Demonic Hand’s next goal…is ‘The Fall of the Desert Country’.”
The fact that Evan could speak the name of the Disaster with no censoring was proof that the Demonic Hand’s plans were already in motion and everyone here had witnessed part of those plans—even if they didn’t realise it was the Demonic Hand’s doing.
“I understand how you may feel, I can relate since the GWE has been hit by them before.
But I also want you to know that there is nothing you can do about the Demonic Hand’s plan. At least, not right now.
Any actions that you take now would only startle the snake unnecessarily and can cause them to make major shifts in their plans, or even move things up a lot. This would render all the information I have on their actions useless, and I would not know what their new plans would be.
By extension, you would be going in blind against them, and you don’t want to know how disastrous that would be…for Tarse.”
Looking towards Isobel who had a dark expression, Evan spoke with a wry smile.
“Now you know why I was being so secretive about being here.
If the Demonic Hand knows I’m in Tarse…they’d move with the assumption that I’m onto them and things would be a mess. Can’t blame them, given my track record.
They haven’t and don’t plan to kill anyone until their plans are complete, so as not to attract attention. Let’s keep it that way and don’t let them know we’re onto them.
First, we should deal with the FCDs so the Demonic Hand would not gain any extra support when they want to begin their ‘Disaster’.”
Evan’s decision to let the Demonic Hand continue their actions in Tarse was the best one right now. For many reasons, including the warning ‘Aidos’ gave him last year,
If he was to prevent any Disaster from happening before it does, then he’d be faced with a Nexus Event.
The remaining Disasters were all Beta Continental disasters, and each one was too dangerous to have become unavoidable.
If something like the ‘Wolf of the END’ or the ‘Ancient Demonic Dragon Resurrection’ were to become a Nexus Event, then Aidos would suffer greatly.
“Now then, let’s get to the last part of this briefing. Where we decide which FCDs we’re going to be facing. As much as I’d like us to stick together, that can’t happen since the FCDs are not in one place.”
