Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 827 - 827: All players on the board, ‘All cards’ on the table.

Meanwhile, in another part of Kreah, David activated his Wrath of the Earthbound and Blessing of Earth skills simultaneously.

Ether coursed through his body, powering the skills and the ground beneath him cracked and surged up like a wave.

David rode this wave of sand, rocks, and debris with controlled skill, surfing through the city and sending out spears of earth that pierced airborne monsters and brought them crashing down.

As he equipped his gauntlets, he added the corpses of these monsters to the wave, along with the debris of the buildings he destroyed.

High in the sky, the Beast Celestial Theron glared at him and commanded his gryphon mount to charge down. David, riding his Earthwave, activated his Rockfist skill and threw the first punch, initiating the battle between the two.

Theron attempted to use his gryphon mount to attack, but when David used his Anti-Magic eyes, the enhancement spells Theron cast on the gryphon were nullified.

The gryphon temporarily lost its balance due to the sudden loss of strength, providing an opening for David. Seizing the opportunity, David grabbed its tail, using the Titanic Might technique to boost his strength, and pulled the tail with ridiculous force.

“Wrath of the Earthbound: Quaking Earthstrike!”

David roared, delivering a devastating blow that sent blood gushing from the gryphon’s mouth. Forced to abandon his mount, Theron leapt off and attempted to summon another monster.

However, David nullified the summoning magic with a mere glance, leaving the celestial with no choice but to call upon another random flying beast nearby.

The Beast Prince faced them with ease, dispatching each one of the winged serpents and hippogriffs swiftly, then charged directly at the Beast Celestial.

Theron roared in response, the tattoos of different animal motifs glowing on his arms, legs, and chest.

His power surged, and he swirled celestial energy around his fist, leaping off a random monster’s back to meet David’s charge in a clash of power that parted the clouds in the sky.

◇ ◇ ◇

Laurene and Arcane Celestial Lorethi engaged in a mage vs mage battle that lit up a portion of the sky with an array of brilliant colours.

Empowered by her Hero and Series Skill Resonance, Laurene matched the power of the Arcane Celestial with ease, forcing Lorethi to retreat amidst the new wave of CelSols.

Suddenly, Laurene’s eyes caught sight of something in her peripheral vision, and in a split second, she analysed the situation and realised what it was.

‘Spells Hidden by Illusions!’

Lorethi and Belphont had combined forces to target the Tarse Army and with Belphont’s Illusions hiding the magic, the Soldiers did not know that tactical class spells were heading towards them.

[TARSE ARMY!!! LEFT FLANK!! INCOMING TACTICALS!!!]

Hearing her magic amplified shout, Lloris who was standing atop his black dragon mount quickly turned and repeated her words to the Warlord in that direction.

The Mage Division of the army obeyed their Emperor and swiftly deployed barriers overhead. A second later, massive explosions impacted the barriers, shocking the soldiers who had been unaware of the deadly spells above them.

Laurene turned and scanned the battlefield, fishing out three more tacticals before the two Celestials stopped their assault.

Suddenly, she felt a weight on her shoulder and turned to see a black cat perched there.

[Where is he?]

The cat asked, and Laurene didn’t need to guess to know it was asking about the Illusion Celestial, Belphont.

“Gimme a sec.”

Laurene replied, focusing on scanning the battlefield. She used the ‘Thunder god’s Boots’ spell to buff her speed, blitzing through the city until she eventually spotted Belphont in the shadow of a church bell tower.

Immediately, she held out her hand and touched the cat, speaking softly.

“I grant you the ‘Privilege of Truth.'”

Three seconds. That was all the time she shared her vision with the cat.

The creature nodded before transforming into a bolt of lightning that blitzed forward at supersonic speed, revealing it was not Kuro like anyone would have assumed, but Kayla wearing his guise.

Kayla sped through the buildings and up the tower in a second. Just as she emerged at the top, she reverted to her true form, then transformed her nails into sharp claws and struck forward, seemingly piercing the air.

In the next moment, a guttural scream of pain rang out, and the figure of the auburn-haired Illusion Celestial glitched into existence.

“GARHH-gurgl!!”

He coughed up blood as Kayla pushed her hand further into his chest, grabbing onto the blood-pumping organ at the centre and ripping it out with ferocity.

“—??!!??”

Belphont’s eyes widened in shock as he saw his own heart held before his eyes. No words escaped his lips; only blood poured out as he beheld the figure of a very pissed-off Spirit Empress.

‘Kaylatheurge…how…??’

Those were Belphont’s final thoughts as the light of life in his eyes dimmed, and Immediately, all the FCDs sensed his death.

Faulin, who was unable to move for as long as the Harvest Festival was still in progress and was converting the millions of souls into energy had his eyes widen when he sensed Belphont’s death.

He snapped his head in the last direction he perceived Belphont and saw the scene of Kayla in her full Spirit Raiment, holding a familiar-looking ball of light in her hands.

Without hesitation, she pressed her palms together and shattered the Soul of the Illusion Celestial, before kicking his corpse onto the ground.

¬Kaylatheurge?! How?!!¬

Belphont had confirmed that causality had claimed her. How could she have escaped?! Such questions filled his mind, but he found no answers.

Meanwhile, Kayla ignored Faulin’s shout and blitzed in Glazard’s direction.

Deep in combat with Leviah, Glazard sensed Kayla’s approach. He sent the CelSols aiding him to hold off Leviah and turned, swinging Frostshade to intercept Kayla.

However–

“…?!”

–nothing happened!

The sword refused to respond to his commands as it had before. He tried to infuse it with magic, but the blade seemed to gain a mind of its own and rejected him.

Those few moments were enough for Kayla to reach him and grab his wrist, twisting his arm with her immense strength.

With a swift motion, she slammed his elbow onto her knee, shattering the joint, before pulling Frostshade out of his hands and speaking coldly.

[Fool. Sigesi’s weapon would never harm me.]

Kayla found Glazard’s attempt to attack her with Frostshade foolish. But how could he have known that Sigesi had given her weapon a command to ‘never harm Kayla in any way, shape, or form’?

The lightning spirit gripped the blade tightly and stabbed the FCD in the stomach, before flinging his body to the side with a dismissive flick, showing no regard for his life.

Glazard was fortunate to have ice powers, which mitigated the damage from her strike. Without them, the injury he sustained would have been nearly five times worse.

Just as Kayla was about to put away the sword, something flashed in her eyes and the next thing she knew, her body was hurtling through a building.

Frostshade fell out of her grip and before she could reach for it, there was another flash something hit her and knocked her body further away.

‘This…Elysandre!’

She quickly understood the nature of the incomprehensible attack and who it came from.

Elysandre’s strikes showed why she was called the ‘Light Celestial’. Her beam attacks moved at light speed, a speed no mortal could perceive.

Kayla was tanky enough to withstand the attacks, but she could not block and they had high knockback.

With Kayla knocked away, Lorethi teleported in and grabbed both Frostshade and Glazard, before warping over to Elysandre who began healing the man’s arm.

They couldn’t have Glazard out of the battle, as his presence was necessary to combat the next threat.

Suddenly, the skies darkened and thunder crackled overhead. Everyone thought Kayla was responsible but the FCDs thought differently.

‘She’s Here!’

Just as Faulin had that thought, a Faux True Voice filled with rage boomed out across Kreah.

¬FAULIN TRAGTHAN!!!! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!!!¬

From the darkened skies above Kreah descended a figure with flowing blonde hair and golden eyes, tendrils of celestial energy snaking down her arms.

Looking at her, Faulin snorted and replied to her query with a defiant tone.

¬If you see my desire to revive my daughter as ‘madness,’ then so be it! But know that you will not stop me here today, Brenda! ¬

As soon as his words echoed, Battle Celestial Hines, who had been silent since his initial failed clash with Evan, stepped forward. With a fierce cry, he hurled his spear at Brenda.

The weapon, coated in celestial energy, sliced through the air at supersonic speed, but Brenda didn’t even blink as she raised her hand and caught the spear effortlessly before her eyes.

With a casual snap, she broke the weapon in two and tossed the broken halves to the ground.

¬Very well, then. It seems I need to beat wisdom back into your dumb skulls. ¬

With that declaration, she clenched her fists, and horizontal tornadoes crackling with lightning formed around her arms. The air buzzed with electrifying tension as Brenda prepared to unleash her storm.

Elysandre narrowed her eyes, glancing at Hines. The two exchanged a silent nod of understanding and simultaneously chanted out.

“”True Name Liberation!””

Bursts of celestial energy erupted from their bodies, accompanied by shockwaves that destroyed the buildings they were standing on. In an instant, they transformed, taking to the sky to confront the enraged Storm Celestial.

Normally, even combining their strengths in their True Name Liberation states wouldn’t be enough to face Brenda, who was Level 700+. However, they were drawing power from the Energy Hotspots beneath Kreah.

Even if they couldn’t defeat her, they could hold her off long enough.

Over fifty CelSol commanders took to the skies to aid the two FCDs, having been tasked by Faulin, to hold Brenda off until the Harvest Festival was complete.

The sky above Kreah became a theatre of conflict, with Brenda at the centre of a maelstrom of storms. Tendrils of celestial energy snaked down her arms, crackling and hissing with law energy.

Elysandre and Hines, bolstered by the power coursing through the energy hotspots beneath the city, clashed with her in a dazzling display of power, shockwaves reverberating through the air with each collision.

Below, the battlefield mirrored the chaos above.

Spells, auras, and energy attacks flew in all directions as the CelSols and the Tarse Army collided in brutal combat. The ground shook with the impact of powerful skills and magic, and the air was filled with the sounds of clashing weapons and war cries.

With all the players on the board and all cards on the table, the battle of Kreah was quickly approaching its climax.
