Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 959 - 959: Rift in Space Number 2

“Evan, fight us next!”

“No way, we’re next!”

“What are you even talking about? Obviously, it’s our turn!”

The training field was on the verge of devolving into a miniature battlefield as the demons bickered, and Evan was about to comment on the scene when his watch buzzed.

“Oh, crap! It’s time!”

“Huh? Time for what?”

A nearby demoness questioned the reason for Evan’s sudden exclamation and the boy shot back immediately.

“For me to head to Rhigor! I’m supposed to go to Gozon today!”

His words served as a reminder of something they had all conveniently overlooked in the past few weeks—Evan was officially the aide to ‘Major General Vaughn’.

This meant he was obligated to accompany Arthur to Gozon for the Annual Interstellar Summit, which was set to begin in three days.

While they processed this detail, Evan was already sprinting toward the training field’s exit.

He made a beeline for his assigned quarters, where he quickly grabbed the ceremonial uniform they’d given him and threw it on.

Once dressed, he realized there was an issue—the uniform was too large, at least two sizes bigger than him. As such, he headed straight to the office of the one who gave it to him.

With a series of teleportations using Farsight and Blink, he reached Alvey’s office and was pushing the door open in under a minute.

Bursting through the door, he found Arthur and Alvey talking, while Sigesi worked on adjusting McEnda’s tie. Having sensed him approaching, they all turned their attention to him just as he asked.

“This thing is big on me, how’d you make it auto-resize again?”

“Left collar button.”

Sigesi responded to his query and upon pressing the left collar button of the uniform, it resized to fit him perfectly.

“Oh…that’s good.”

After sorting that, he glanced around the room, noting that besides Arthur, everyone else was formally dressed.

With Alvey, McEnda, and Sigesi before him, an idea suddenly struck Evan. He reached into his inventory, pulled out a camera, flipped it around, and held it up to snap a picture.

“Say Cheese!”

*CLICK! x3

Evan snapped three rapid shots before flipping the camera to check the results.

The picture was, unsurprisingly, chaotic.

Alvey in the back, engrossed in his files; McEnda flashing a mischievous peace sign over Sigesi’s head, and Arthur, with a deadpan expression, holding a pistol he had pulled from his subspace and aiming it directly at Evan.

“Pfft…What sort of chaotic picture is this?”

Evan laughed, activating the camera’s print function to churn out multiple copies. He then handed the pictures to everyone in the room, whether they wanted them or not.

As he distributed them, a thought crossed his mind, bringing a small grin to his face.

‘Damn, I can’t wait to see Roselia’s expression when I show her this…’

As the thought crossed his mind, Arthur activated his Cosmic Teleporter Artifact, opening a Gate in the office.

“You guys go on without me. I’ve got to make up for an appointment with Rachel I missed.”

“We’re going to Rhigor in less than an hour, Arthur.”

Alvey reminded him of this, but Arthur simply pointed to the artifact on his forearm and replied.

“I’d get there in ten seconds with this. Just let me know when you’ve reached.”

With that, he stepped through the Gate, the swirling energy swallowing him as he disappeared, presumably off to Northern Gledea.

Leaving those words, Arthur stepped into the Cosmic Gate and vanished to Northern Gledea, while Evan turned to Alvey and asked.

“Where was he all this while?”

By he, Evan meant Arthur, who had been missing for over two weeks. The answer he received, however, was far from what he expected.

“He said he was in space.”

“…I’m sorry, what?”

Evan’s incredulous look drew a light chuckle from McEnda, who shook his head and offered some sage advice.

“If you try to overthink everything Arthur does, you’d get a headache. Just don’t bother.”

Evan took the advice to heart, letting the subject drop. Whatever Arthur had been doing in space was clearly his own business and Evan wasn’t about to rack his brain over it.

Gozonian Interstellar Outpost

Rhigor Continent

June 12th

531st Divine Year

An hour later, Evan found himself stepping foot on the Rhigor Continent of Aramis for the first time.

He was walking beside Sigesi while looking around, studying the technological advancement level of the Outpost.

‘Could come in handy in the future.’

Thinking this, he looked forward, at the backs of Alvey and McEnda who walked as they talked, before glancing at the hundreds of demons with heads bowed on each side of the hallway.

Finally, they reached the end of the hallway, entering a large hall with a dome-shaped ceiling. There, in the centre of this hall lay the massive Dimensional Rift the Gozonians used to invade Aramis.

‘Fucking hell, this shit is huge!’

The rift on the Dark Continent in Future Aidos, or the rift to the Regal Void Expanse in Duscon. None of them could compare to the size of the thing before Evan’s eyes.

The rift was no longer a chaotic tear in space; it had been stabilized and transformed into a functional Dimensional Gate. The sleek, mechanical framework surrounding the rift was evidence of the meticulous engineering involved, along with the cables and conduits sprawled across the floor like a network of veins, pulsating with raw energy.

Dozens of demons were stationed around the area. Technicians bustled about, monitoring gauges, adjusting dials, and ensuring the gate’s stability while labourers ferried cargo from the gateway.

The transported items ranged from small crates to massive containers, each stamped with the insignia of the military.

As Alvey and McEnda entered the hall, every pair of eyes turned to them, and the demons snapped to attention, saluting—except for one.

“Barron.”

“You two are still here? And here I thought you’d be the first to go.”

The two Generals shook hands with the Demon Naval Admiral, Barron Agriker before their gazes turned to the gate, which was undergoing final adjustments to accommodate Transcendent-level entities.

Evan glanced over and noticed what they were doing, pressing his hands to his chin as he questioned if the future Gozon still retained this capability to construct Dimensional Gates.

‘They didn’t do anything like this during the initial invasion, so I would assume they’ve lost this technology.’

Just as he came to that conclusion, Barron, who was speaking with Alvey and McEnda asked about the absent member of their group.

“…Where’s Arthur?”

Alvey opened his mouth to respond, but before he could, the overhead lights dimmed to a dull red, and alarms blared through the hall. A sharp, cracking sound reverberated as urgent voices erupted from every corner.

“Detecting forced spatial activity!”

“Anti-Spatial Barriers 1-5 have been breached!!”

“Barrier 6 has been breached?!”

“Barrier 7 is down!!”

“Attack!!”

Chaos erupted as demons scrambled into action, and Barron’s eyes narrowed, his expression hardening as he processed the information.

The Outpost housing the Dimensional Gate was among the most fortified locations on Aramis. For someone to breach its defences—especially with not one but two Four-Star Generals present—was nothing short of audacious.

At that moment, Alvey let out a quiet sigh before speaking in a magic-infused voice.

[All Units, Stand Down.]

“?!”

“But General Sargon?!”

[Stand. Down.]

Alvey repeated the command with extra pressure in his voice and every demon in the room, from the lowest rank to the highest ranked, halted their movements, despite their desire to uncover the disturbance’s source.

A moment later, the space beside Alvey warped, releasing a surge of spatial energy as it split open into a circular portal from which a familiar face stepped in.

“Hey, Alvey. I think I broke something.”

Arthur said casually as he stepped in, glancing around at the flashing red lights and the armed demons.

“Yeah, I definitely broke something.”

As the Cosmic Gate behind him sealed shut, every demon in the hall turned their astonished eyes toward Arthur, and they immediately figured he was the one responsible for the barrier breaches.

The absurd amount of spatial power they sensed from the Cosmic Gate was a dead giveaway.

Unlike the demons, Evan wasn’t the least bit surprised that Arthur was the culprit behind the chaos. This sort of absurdity was right up his alley.

“Dude, you sure know how to make an Entrance.”

“Haha! I didn’t expect you guys would be right in front of a Dimensional Gate. I just locked onto Alvey’s coordinates and beamed myself right next to him.

It was only when I noticed that I passed through some sort of barrier that I realised I might’ve broken something.”

While Arthur’s response to Evan came with a carefree laugh, the demons who overheard his words were far from amused.

‘Those barriers were created by Peak Ranked Demons!!! How did you break through a 7 of them??!!??!!’

Too bad their questions would remain unanswered forever.

Evan, glanced at the Cosmic Artifact on Arthur’s forearm, before turning his gaze to the Dimensional Gate nearby.

“Another rift, huh? Makes sense why the Volume is called False gods and Rifts in Space.”

Arthur, who overheard Evan’s remark, turned to him with a raised eyebrow.

“Huh? The Volume is called Exodus, though?”

“That’s your Volume.”

Before Arthur could respond, Alvey’s voice interrupted them, letting them know it was time to enter the Dimensional Gate.

Except Barron, they all stepped into the gate and were instantly enveloped in a sensation of intense pressure, as if the very fabric of space was folding around them— which, in truth, it was.

For a moment, they experienced disorientation, as though their bodies and souls were being pulled through something. Just as suddenly as the sensation began, it ceased, and they emerged on the other side.

The transition from the chaotic vortex to solid ground was abrupt, but the sight that greeted them was one of order and discipline. Rows upon rows of demons stood at attention, their postures rigid and their gazes fixed forward.

As Alvey and McEnda exited the gate, the demons saluted sharply, their reverence palpable.

[Generals.]

The demons intoned in perfect unison, their voices filled with respect as they greeted the group.

Once the first group finished their salute, a second contingent of demons stepped forward. Their demeanour was subtly different, their expressions carrying a profound respect as they bowed deeply before McEnda.

“Welcome back, Young Lord. The Mistress has been awaiting you.”

Seeing this, Evan was once again reminded that McEnda was a scion of a prestigious Archdemon Bloodline, one of the few Noble Houses in Gozon to hold a Zeroth Rank since the inception of the Gozon’s Nobility. (Refer to Chapter 848 for Nobility Ranks)

Beside Evan, Arthur was glancing around, noting the weaker gravity and energy levels, his eyebrows raising as he questioned.

“This is Gozon?”

His expression betrayed a trace of disappointment and seeing this, McEnda just laughed.

“This is one of our planet’s moons. No way we’d have a Dimensional Gate leading straight into our world.”

McEnda’s words highlighted one of the planet’s key security measures. The Dimensional Rifts were strategically placed on their numerous moons to safeguard against potential threats, with only a select few exceptions.

It wasn’t hard for Evan to understand the reason for this.

‘Makes sense. A Dimensional Rift is basically a door, and last I checked, doors can be used to enter and exit.’

The Rifts Gozon used to invade other worlds, could conversely be used to invade them as well, so they needed to have security measures in place.

As McEnda strode forward, the gathered demons parted, forming a clear path. With a subtle gesture of his hand, the dome-shaped ceiling above them began to shimmer before gradually turning transparent, revealing a breathtaking sight beyond.

Suspended in space before them was a gargantuan planet.

The curvature of its surface stretched beyond their field of vision, dwarfing even the colossal planets within Aramis’ star system. While those planets’ surface areas spanned an impressive 80 billion square kilometres each, this one was on an entirely different scale.

Arthur’s attention was immediately captured by the swirling clouds of cosmic energy that blanketed the planet’s atmosphere, while Evan’s jaw almost tumbled to the floor in shock at the sheer size.

McEnda raised a hand, pointing towards the giant planet and spoke, his tone filled with pride.

“That, is Prime World Gozon.”
