Chapter 960 - 960: Aidos and Gozon: Titans of Orithyia [Monthly Bonus 1]
Prime World Gozon.
A First-Generation Prime World of the Orithyia Galaxy.
First-Generation Worlds were worlds created together with the formation of the Galaxy and were just as old as it.
While their sizes varied, these worlds shared key traits: immense mass, which resulted in stronger gravity (though this could be regulated by the World’s Consciousness), an abundance of ambient energy, and they served as the homes of the universe’s most powerful beings.
Prime Worlds and the like existed specifically to accommodate these powerful beings so they didn’t go snooping around lower worlds that they could destroy just by kicking the ground too hard.
Among the First-Generation Prime Worlds was Aidos, an intergalactic hegemon on par with Gozon and the home world of Artemisia, Beatrix, and, in a way, Evan.
So, why did the Gozonians expand across vast distances without fear of losing their dominion to outsiders?
The answer was simple—they had the population to sustain it.
Gozon, a massive planet orbiting a Yellow Giant Star, boasted an astonishing surface area of over 180 billion square kilometres. To put that in perspective, some of Gozon’s moons were larger than Planet Aramis—a Prime World in its own right.
From what Evan knew, the surface area of Aidos was around 4.9 billion square kilometres. That made Gozon at least 37 times larger than Aidos.
That was 364 times larger than Earth V.
Calling Gozon HUGE was putting it mildly.
Gozon had over 250 celestial bodies that could be considered ‘moons,’ but only 32 were close enough to illuminate its night skies. However, not all of these 32 could be seen at once due to the planet’s size.
Gozon’s gravity was so powerful that it could capture planet-sized bodies in orbit. As mentioned earlier, some of its moons were larger than Aramis, and they would have become planets in their own right if they hadn’t formed too close to Gozon.
Unfortunately, their proximity to the planet’s immense gravity pulled them in, and they became its moons—though calling them moons seemed a bit of a stretch, given that they each had their own atmospheres.
“That’s far too many moons…”
“Tell me about it. This is the first planet I’ve seen with this many moons.”
Arthur replied as they both observed the hologram of Gozon before them, growing tired of counting the moons that surrounded it. He followed up with a comment that made Evan stop in his tracks.
“Can’t say the same about stars, though.”
“…what do you mean by that?”
At Evan’s question, Arthur raised an eyebrow, slightly puzzled, and responded with a question of his own.
“Never seen a Star system with multiple stars before?”
“How many are we talking here?”
“3.”
Evan went silent at the mention of this as he’d never heard of an inhabitable Star System with more than one star.
Aidos’ star system was the standard Single-Star System. The planet itself had one moon, which was roughly around one-fifth of the planet’s size—around 980 million km².
Refocusing his gaze onto Gozon before him, Evan was genuinely scared of the kind of gravity such a huge planet would have.
But Alvey and McEnda had assured him it wouldn’t be as intense as he feared. Prime World consciousnesses could regulate their gravity, after all.
As they moved down the transparent moon hallway, Evan felt like his body was getting heavier every few steps. He was about to ask if Gozon’s gravity had already started affecting him when Arthur spoke first.
“Is it me or has the gravity been increasing every 10 to 15 metres?”
Arthur’s observation prompted Alvey to confirm and explain.
“It’s to help people who’ve been off-world for too long adjust gradually to Gozon’s gravity, so they’re not overwhelmed when they reach the surface.”
Upon hearing this, Evan muttered under his breath.
“Oh, so that’s why my body was feeling heavier a bit.”
McEnda nodded in response to Evan and added his own take.
“Most people usually don’t realise what’s going on until they get towards the end. But considering your energy sensitivity is high, it’s only natural you did.”
Hearing the words of the Archdemon, Evan blinked in confusion.
“Huh? My energy sensitivity is as much as the average person’s, though?”
“”””…””””
Evan’s words were met with deadpan stares from everyone, even Arthur, who pulled ridiculous things on a daily basis.
Clearly, they didn’t believe him. However, Evan wasn’t about to quietly accept the label they’d placed on him.
“No, seriously. If it was anything else, like energy quality or so, I would have agreed, but my sensitivity’s as normal as could be.”
“”””…””””
His words did nothing to convince them, and just when he was about to speak again, Arthur suddenly flicked his right index and thumb fingers.
Automatically, Evan’s eyes darted upwards and Arthur immediately locked onto that reaction.
“Right there. The amount of energy I flicked up was as much as half a millilitre of water. The kind you wouldn’t even notice if it’s on your skin, but you reacted just now.”
“I see your point now…”
Evan had no words to argue with. He had indeed moved his gaze on instinct because he sensed the energy Arthur flicked.
Seeing him finally understand how high his own energy sensitivity was, Arthur nodded, before turning around and continuing down the hallway.
For Arthur, the gradual increase in gravity was unnecessary, as his understanding of the law of gravity made him naturally attuned to the gravity of any celestial body he found himself on.
Alvey and McEnda were the same, though to varying degrees. McEnda’s comprehension of the Gravity Law was over 30%, while Alvey’s was only 10%, as he had only learned the basics for interstellar travel.
They continued moving, reaching a checkpoint, and after passing through security clearance, they entered a teleportation waypoint, and then continued to another checkpoint. It was then that McEnda noticed something outside.
“That ship…it’s from Aidos, isn’t it?”
All eyes turned toward the direction he pointed, and there, docked on the Moon, was a giant spaceship bearing an insignia familiar to the Demons.
It was from Aidos’ Council of Kings; the planet’s ruling body, just like Gozon’s 72 Demon Kings.
Current Aidos was ruled by this Council of Race Kings from the planet’s diverse races, and each of these Race Kings was just as powerful as Gozon’s 72.
‘But, a Spaceship, huh? Future Aidos doesn’t have the technology for that kind of thing. I guess I’m starting to understand how far they declined…’
As Evan was making this companion, Arthur asked a question about Aidos as he was unfamiliar with them.
“They’re a top dog like you guys, right?”
“Yeah.
They’re the main reason why this galaxy hasn’t changed names from ‘Orithyia’ to ‘Gozon’.”
McEnda replied casually, revealing just how powerful Gozon’s interstellar rule was, and how immensely powerful Current Aidos was to match them.
His words once again reminded Evan of Future Aidos’ decline. They also made Evan curious about just what could have caused this mass declination.
‘Artemisia told me about that god who went on a rampage, but there’s no way just one god would be able to mess up Aidos that bad if the Council of Kings was around.
So that means Aidos must have already been on the decline before that incident happened.’
Evan pondered this as he kept an ear open, listening to all McEnda was telling Arthur.
Gozon’s size gave them the numbers to spread their people across many worlds, ensuring they remained on top in every colony. They had quantity.
From the strength of Alvey, McEnda and the other High-Rank Demons Evan had seen, they had quality as well.
So, how could Aidos match them?
“They have more quality than us.”
“Are you for real?”
Evan asked reflexively when Alvey spoke and the Greater Demon nodded, while McEnda chuckled lightly as a passing demon frowned at Alvey’s words.
“Many wouldn’t want to admit it, but it’s the truth. Aidos has us beat in the quality department.
That planet churns out nonstandard existences faster than a printing press churns out the daily paper.”
McEnda pointed at one of the moons they could see from their position and continued.
“You see what we did with our moons? Turning them all into Outposts. Aidos doesn’t have our size and this many moons, so they turned all the other planets in their Solar System into Outposts.
Take note, Aidos may be the only Prime World in its system, but every other world there is at least a high-level one. They have complete control over every single celestial body in that system.”
They were going through various security protocols to enter Gozon and McEnda’s words made it clear that Aidos had similar protocols spanning an entire solar system.
“That’s…wild.”
Evan didn’t know how to react to this. After all, the Aidos he knew was not the Hegemon McEnda was describing.
“Aidos has a ‘Council of Kings’, you called them?”
When Evan asked this, McEnda looked at him with a raised brow for a moment before responding.
“Yeah. I’m a bit surprised you don’t know them.
Anyway, demons make up over 70% of Gozon’s population, so we dominate everything. On Aidos, it’s more of an equal split between the races so they have a Council with equal members of every race in it.
Except for the Spirits though…”
“Why are the Spirits an exception?”
Arthur posed the question, prompting Evan to chuckle before giving a response—this was something he knew all too well.
“It’s the ‘Spirit Empress’, right?”
The woman who would become his first contracted spirit in the future.
When he said this, McEnda nodded in affirmation before explaining to Arthur.
“No one knows why, but it’s said that some few hundred thousand years ago, she killed all the Spirit Kings except one of them. Spirit King Sinclair.
It was around that time she became the ‘Spirit Empress’ so people say she stole the powers of those Spirit Kings, but no one knows the real reason besides the Spirits. I personally think it was an internal Aidosian conflict.”
McEnda had no idea just how accurate his personal opinion on the matter was. Kaylatheurge had killed them all because they had attempted to eliminate her after she disrupted their power balance.
As for why Sinclair was spared, it was because his words had led her to self-reflect and embrace the part of herself she had been subconsciously rejecting—a turning point that resulted in her ascension as a Race Empress.
“Empress Kaylatheurge has a lot of strange things about her, but even this was too strange. It’s been hundreds of millennia and the Spirits have barely recovered from the loss.
Among the Spirit Kings she killed were the other ‘Great Spirits’ of Aidos, so she was the only ‘Great Spirit’ for over a century after that.”
The Hierarchal Ranks of Spirits were a bit different from other races.
Empress>King>=Great Spirit>High>Mid>Low.
Due to the ‘Race King/Queen’ titles of the Race Ruler System, Great Spirits could also be ‘Kings’ as well.
