Chapter 1317: Is That Boss Music I Hear? [Part 1]

With the Monkey King joining the battle, Regulus and his subordinates felt a lot of pressure.

They were supposed to be the strongest beings in the world of Artem. And yet, they couldn’t gauge how strong their opponents were.

No matter what strategy or tricks they used, they were the ones being pushed back.

Kazogonaga was personally dealing with Regulus while his friends were simply defending the children behind them.

Just like the Monkey King, they were only allowed to fight in the name of self-defense, in adherence to the rules of causality.

Kazogonaga was a bit special. Just like Maple and Cinnamon, it was a being that could break some rules without fearing any repercussions.

Feeling that he was backed into a corner, Regulus gritted his teeth and retreated to the smithing district to regroup with Castor.

“Retreat!” Regulus ordered.

He felt very embarrassed about the outcome of this battle.

Earlier, he was very confident that no matter who crossed his path, they would be killed without fail.

But now, fighting against opponents that seemed to be as strong or maybe even stronger than him, he realized that they needed to rethink their strategy.

’Should I use it?’ Regulus thought while looking at the red bead inside his storage ring.

This bead was the size of an adult hand, and the moment he broke it, the one who promised to make him the King of Artem would come to his rescue.

Castor believed that Regulus was fine with him becoming the King of Artem. But the reality was that Regulus was only using the other Celestial as a means to an end.

He wanted Castor and King Astrion to fight to the death, and he would come to reap the benefits that were left behind.

The Celestial thought that he didn’t need to call for backup from beings that lived in a place that even he couldn’t fathom.

When he arrived at the smithing area, Castor and his subordinates were still not there.

’That fool!’ Regulus cursed internally. ’Is he perhaps having fun with Queen Miriamele inside Dark Paradise?’

Due to the severity of the situation, he was forced to make an important decision.

After an internal struggle, the old Celestial narrowed his eyes and decided to go with the last resort that he had on hand.

“You all forced me to do this!” Regulus shouted as he took out the bead from his storage ring and crushed it.

Immediately, a pillar of red light shot to the sky, creating a giant portal that spanned hundreds of meters wide.

“Took you long enough, Regulus.”

A voice filled with amusement spread throughout the entire battlefield, chilling the hearts of those who heard it.

From that giant portal, countless winged creatures that looked more like a mix of demons and monsters emerged.

They were the The Zyraxian Sovereigns.

Infernals that lived in the Abyss between realities. Conquerors of worlds who whispered promises, corrupting those whom they deemed would be easy enough to manipulate.

And now, they had set their sights on a new world to conquer.

Thirteen gazed at these devil-like creatures from the Abyss with a calmness that preceded his age.

He had already assumed that these beings would suddenly appear on the battlefield, so he wasn’t as surprised as the Defenders and the Rebels, who were seeing them for the first time.

“I see, so I was right,” Thirteen muttered before a devilish smile appeared on his face. “Took you guys long enough to come.”

Although they were in a difficult situation, the young man was still calm.

Deep inside his body, one of the shackles that bound his soul core loosened, allowing him to use a power that he had kept hidden until this very moment.

“Wukong, give me ten minutes,” Thirteen said. “Can you do that?”

“It’s just ten minutes,” Sun Wukong replied, resting his staff on his shoulder. “I can give you double that, but it won’t be fun otherwise.”

Thirteen nodded before sitting cross-legged on the ground. He then closed his eyes and sank deep inside his soul core, allowing it to fully break the shackles that bound his powers locked away for many years.

“Guys, huddle up!” Kazogonaga ordered as he and his friends created a protective wall to protect Maple, Cinnamon, Stella, and the teenage boy who was seated cross-legged on the ground.

The rainbow-colored Anteater glanced at the boy before shifting its gaze to the Monkey King.

“Friend of yours?” Kazogonaga asked.

“He’s my sworn brother,” Sun Wukong answered.

Kazogonaga looked genuinely surprised because it never knew that Sun Wukong had a sworn brother.

“He must be a great person then,” Kazogonaga commented.

“That, he is.” Sun Wukong smiled, releasing his aura to prevent their group from being overwhelmed by the suppression that was being released by the beings that came from the Abyss.

Looking at the countless demon-like devils that were crossing over the portal reminded him of the olden days.

A time when he waged war against the Gods, facing an army that numbered in the tens of thousands.

“They don’t look too shabby,” Kazogonaga commented as he stared at the leader of the Infernals. “Psoglav is still more handsome than that guy.”

“But of course,” Psoglav replied as if it was plain common sense.

The group of friends chuckled, unfazed by what they were seeing.

This wasn’t their first rumble against powerful beings, and they had also died in the past because of it.

But now, they knew no fear. They had a feeling that no matter how dire their situation was right now, it wasn’t as bad as it looked.

“Found her!” Maple said, looking very excited.

“Cinnamon found her, too!” Cinnamon raised her hand.

The two little gluttons then made circling motions with their hands and created another portal that connected them from a world far away from Artem.

A moment later, something crossed over the portal, which made Kazogonaga blink. Meanwhile, Sun Wukong laughed heartily.

“Is that boss music I hear?” Kazogonaga blinked after seeing who the newcomer was.

Everyone’s gaze landed on the blue baby slime that was riding on top of a black coffin.

The baby slime glanced at Thirteen, who was seated cross-legged on the ground, before shifting her gaze to the Infernals in the sky.

The baby slime then narrowed its eyes and spoke a word that made Psoglav and Sun Wukong cover Maple’s and Cinnamon’s ears, not wanting them to imitate the little princess.

“F*ckers.”

The two gluttons had summoned the Fairy Princess, Eiko, and the black coffin, Blackfire, to join them in battle.

With the two of them here, the two gluttons felt a lot safer, knowing that they were both one-man armies that could face whatever the Infernals would throw at them.
