The Conquerors Path

Chapter 910 889-Shy Young Man.

Chapter 910 889-Shy Young Man.

My thoughts paused as Eleanara finally came to herself, her mind clutching onto what had happened till now as I spoke.

"How do you feel?"

My question was the main part here as I felt the eyes of Eleanara focus on me, a certain danger to them as she slowly opened her mouth and spoke.

"I feel relaxed, but I also feel alive, angry, and rageful."

It was slowly turning into words, but they held many of the emotions Eleanara was going through at this moment. The whole atmosphere around this office and her was different, a more dangerous yet rumbling feeling around her. It felt as if I was looking at a volcano, that was about to explode, and when it did, a lot of lives would be lost to it.

I watched with a small smile on my face as Eleanara curlily clenched and unclenched her fists, a raging power in them, and when I looked at her face, there was a certain calmness in it, one that wasn't there before. Overall, even I couldn't tell what kind of new Eleanara was being formed now, so I waited till she could finally feel at ease.

And it took some time, Eleanara feeling the warmth in her body, tugging at her muscles, her eyes seemingly getting better while she adjusted herself to the new level of mana she was feeling all around her body. It was a test of sorts, to see how high she stood and how much she would have to forsake to get what she wanted.

Thus, a few minutes later, Eleanara finally looked at me, her expression melting to become somewhat soft, a certain gentleness in her eyes, one that you give to your family or people who have become very important to you.

"I want to thank you. Without you, I would perhaps have locked myself away in that dark room, forever lost, hidden away while the ones truly responsible for everything would have lived in the luxury they stole. I owe you a lot, Austin Lionheart."

I smiled widely at her words, my eyes holding her gentle ones as I, shaking my head, replied.

"You can't give all the credit to me. All I did was bring out what you wanted to, do a long time ago. And this is also a promise I gave your friends—to see you shine again."

Eleanara chuckled at my words, her expression only turning more relaxed as she, shaking her head, replied.

"You don't have to be so humble. I know what you have done for me, and it isn't something I will ever forget in my life."

Smiling back at her words, I spoke.

"What do you plan on doing from now onwards?"

My words made Eleanara's expression turn taut as she, holding back all her rising emotions, replied with just one word.

"Revenge."

My expression turned calmer and more centred when I heard her words, thus I, looking at her, spoke.

"Before you jump to your revenge, I want you to know the fact that perhaps Silva's family would not be the end of it all. There may be bigger players at hand who want to take you down and bring down the reputation of your faction and family."

My words didn't make her flinch as she accepted it. The now-elevated Eleanara would have no doubt thought about it all and had a great idea about it. It's normal, after all. To pull something off that could even fool her, big players would have to be involved, players bigger than Silva's family—and they too shall get the end of her revenge.

"Is that what you told Silva?"

Eleanara asked, to which I wasn't shocked, for, you see, when these doors open and move, there is a certain log of when it happened and who opened it. To the offices of Eleanara, only two people have such access—one is Eleanara herself and the other is Silva. So when I forcefully opened the door, I placed the timestamp and signature as that of Silva's, which would mean that while Eleanara was 'updating,' Silva would have entered inside the room.

"I did, and she seems to have wanted to find the answers on her own too."

My words didn't make much change in the expression of Eleanara. Perhaps she had already decided on how she would deal with it, or perhaps she had no idea at all. Whatever the case was, at the end of it all, a bloodbath was assured, and seeing the silence of Eleanara, I spoke.

"She seems to be wretched with guilt, and for all her issues, she didn't seem to know the fact that her family played a part. She is innocent in this..."

My words once again didn't make much difference to the expression of Eleanara as she, shaking her head, replied.

"It doesn't matter. What is done is done. I shall decide on how I will take this in the future."

A fixed power, a certain power of one destined to rule over others now filling the voice of Eleanara, a certain quiet authority that would keep anyone and everyone in control, as I turned silent for a moment, after which I spoke.

"I see. Then I shall not interfere in this. But if you are setting out to find the truth, then you should start with the brother of Silva. He will be the man I know for you to use, and that is all the information I know."

Eleanara's expression twisted a bit at the mention of the brother of Silva, but she schooled her expression, after which she replied with a light smile, nodding her head.

"I shall remember it. Thank you."

Seeing her smile, I spoke.

"Then do you want to go meet your friends now?"

To my words, Eleanara shook her head, her expression now turning back to one of coldness and a lingering attachment as she replied.

"No, not now. I will visit them once everyone involved in this is dead."

'Bingo.'

As I inwardly rejoiced, my expression turned to one of concern as I replied.

"I shall accept your decision, but I still think it would be good for you to see your friends. Perhaps it might bring more closure."

Eleanara didn't reject my words, looking at me with a very soft smile that seemed to melt even the smoothest butter on her charming face as she replied.

"Once again, thank you for those words, but I have already made my choice, and I believe if I see my friends now, I might break down. I shall have my closure when my revenge is completed."

I nodded my head, not pulling more into that topic as I suddenly asked.

"What do you plan to do about Silva?"

This time, I caught a small crack in the expression of Eleanara. No matter how much betrayal lay here, it was still the fact that those two considered each other sisters, and it wouldn't be easy for Eleanara to know what path she should take.

"I will let her be. I shall let her walk the path she wants, for I have always given her that freedom."

Even though Eleanara said those words with conviction, I could still pick up on the certain tremors and bitterness in her voice, which I accepted as is. I, nodding my head, now looked at Eleanara with a certain hesitant expression, my situation catching the eyes of Eleanara as she asked with a bit of concern.

"Is anything troubling you?"

To which, shaking my head, I met the eyes of Eleanara for a moment, after which I started to speak.

"I just wanted to say… I'm sorry for suddenly hugging you like that. I know it's not proper to do such a thing to a queen, especially a married woman."

As I spoke, my eyes instinctively shifted to the side, a faint blush creeping onto my cheeks—no doubt betraying my embarrassment.

[Blurgh!… I can taste the vomit in my mouth! What is this cringe scene?!]

'Shut up!'

I snapped inwardly at the system, trying to ignore its taunts. The atmosphere in the room subtly shifted. I could feel the change in tone with my senses—my sudden shyness and flustered expression seemed to stun Eleanora for a moment. To make matters worse, I deliberately wrapped myself in an aura of innocence, exuding the charm of a completely inexperienced boy who had never dealt with women before.

This act was a killer move for any woman—let alone Eleanora, who already had a rather favourable impression of me. I could sense the teasing smile forming on her lips as she spoke.

"Are you shy?~"

Her playful words made me turn toward her, my blush deepening. Too embarrassed to meet her gaze, I muttered,

"Cough… please stop."

But my flustered reaction only seemed to amuse her more.

"Where did the confident Austin from earlier go? Could it be… you're embarrassed to deal with an old woman past her prime?~"

Her words instantly triggered a response from me.

"No, you're still beautiful."

The moment those words left my lips, I felt the air in the room shift once again. The effect was immediate. Eleanora's teasing smile faltered for a brief second—she could tell I meant every word.
